Initial product cost $70
Yahoo web store: $26 for 2 months

Total cost to start: $96

Each week I will send a list of orders to the manufacturer in Hong Kong, who will drop ship them for me.

A Site targeted Adwords campaign started running on scuba and military enthusiast sites last night.

I'll let everyone know how it goes.

I like the niche idea.

I think you should add some images that make the buyer feel like he is buying something strong, powerful, adventurous, etc.

Pics of Special Agents or Navy Seals, rock climbers, etc.

Make me feel like if I buy this watch my whole life is going to be fast and exciting.

Good Luck

You just have the one watch? Needs some sprucing up...

I agree with what has been said, you may also want to spend the $ to have a logo created, that will lend a lot of credibility to your site. Something with a "Rambo" feel to it would be cool...

You could probably extend this to the hunting demographic as well?

Good Luck!

I agree with all the comments. I have not altered the design at all yet.

I'm also going to set up a mirror site at RuggedWatch.com using a different shopping cart to see if one gets better results than the other.

Thanks for the feedback!

Drop ship from Hong Kong? Have you assured yourself as to the ability of the manufacturer to do this up to your requirements? Seems like shipping from Hong Kong must be quite expensive...

Hey Sean,

If you cant find a picture that is applicable for your military watch, you might consider contacting the local air soft teams in your area and asking if you can get them to model the watch as they play. Their air soft weapons are realistic enough, and if you buy their ammo or something they might be into it.

Maybe get some minidv footage or something for a vid.
