Hey guys I was wondering if anyone has experience or knowledge regarding what it takes to sell intellectual property such as these compilation music CDs you see advertised on TV. You know the ones that just take older popular songs and make 1 good CD out of them. Who actually owns this type of stuff? Is it the artist or the record company for example?
Also, if a baseball game for example was played on TV, how could you sell a copy of that without getting sued? Would you have to license the rights? Would it be the TV station that owns those rights or the league? Any ideas?
I have been kicking around some ideas in this field but don't have any clue how to go about finding out what restrictions their are and costs.
