It's OK right to post a new site on here for feedback?
Are you afraid someone will copy your idea?

I think Kamakiri and a few others put it best when they said "If you're not getting copied, you're not doing it right". I believe they also stated that if you have the advantage (in time already spent) and someone beats you out of your own game, then its you to blame. Sorry if I misquoted (doing this from memory).

I guess after thinking about it, if the niche is fairly new, and you feel like the extra advice/feedback you will receive from these members knowing the idea is not worth the risk. Then do not post it. But just know that these senior posters give very good specific advice based on your idea and you will miss out on some useful info.

Post! and if you read feedback from others that you think is worthwhile, PM them and get specific, private feedback.
Your idea will show up somewhere else, from someone else, from who knows where. You can't escape it, it just happens. Is it because you posted it?? Doubtful but.....I would say focus on the steps in front of you and being in action around your muse, if you do that you are light years ahead of the "competition" any way..

hey,Jackson:
The possibility exists.
In Longtail theory, you are definitely not the only person who has this idea, idea is just part of your whole business, the execution is the most important part that differ you from your competitors.

If you have a good idea in a niche that is profitable, you should stay as quiet as possible about it. That's just common sense. Niches are only profitable because the sharks don't know about them. If you have to work your ass off to oust the competition which you invited, then it's not a muse.

I mean, if you come here with an ugly looking website and say "I sold 10 widgets this month how can I improve" the professionals are going to look at your site and think "hmmm, he sold 10 widgets with that ugly hack of a site" and then promptly design something professional for themselves in your niche in less than an afternoon.

On the other hand, if your muse has been going a couple of months and has no sales on the board, there is nothing to lose and everything to gain by posting the address here for feedback. Just don't go bleating when you start getting sales on the board.

if a niche can be duplicated fast by others,it's not a good niche.we have to establish some barriers to stop others copying you.Tim mentioned it in the book.(I only remember "patent")

I am not worried about the forum I think everyone on here is great
I'm just worried about putting my site online for all the internet to see, especially people looking for new product ideas.

That is cutting off your nose to spite your face. Without the internet your sales are 100% of nothing.

First point: Did you google your idea? I bet you aren't the first to think of it.

Second: You don't want to be original. That will shoot you in the foot. Why forge ahead where no one has gone before. Did Mac invent the hamburger?

Third: It is not the idea! The idea itself is completely immaterial to the success of a muse. It is your ability to sell. If you are so scared of being copied that you cant even talk about it, you will never make it.
