Hey Everyone,

My name's Kieran, and it's been about 3 months since I've read 4hww. I guess everyone takes away something different, but I really latched on to the muse idea. I like working (I actually don't mind working more than 4 hours per week! I mean, it's okay if you really like what you're doing) but I also love to dabble with new ideas. I thought the concept of a muse - income on auto-pilot - was just really neat.

I've come up with a bunch of ideas for muses, but I've only started on my first. It took a while, but when I realized I could just apply what I already did, it made creating the muse much easier. Here is it:

A guide to getting a job. It's takes you through the steps of putting together a resume, cover letter, and the interview process. It's aimed at people with little experience applying to jobs, who want a response fast.

Here's the website: http://www.businesscareersguide.com

Here's my problem: I haven't made any sales yet. I'm using both AdWords and Analytics. My guess is that the website design/copy/layout/value proposition is not working well enough. I've been getting roughly 15-30 visitors from CPC, without any conversions yet.

I was wondering if I could get some feedback, maybe a direction to be pointed in to improve the muse (maybe I'm totally off target!).

Happy musing!

Kieran

Hey Kieran,

I was on the job hunt not long ago (still am for part time job).

I'd say the visible bullet point info you are providing on your site is mostly freely available online, the insider secrects don't seem to be so secret any more (book: What color is your parachute for ex.).

I have thought of this muse myself after searching for a job for while, however never got into it.

The site could be more polished to give more professional feel:
- better fonts, shiny highlighting
- in about you section, you mention you published books. It would help if you mention them or somwhat use them to enhance your expertize.
- More testimonials
- Offer something juicier, a special insider secret, one cant find elsewhere

You could also narrow down your market, ie students or immigrants, newcomers to the States etc to increase chances.

The voice sounds professional.

Good luck!
