drop shipping sources?

Does anyone know any legit drop shipping sources? I am looking into some potential muses and I have found some places online that claim to be drop shippers, but I heard a lot of these sites are just middlemen. I would just use the one that Tim recommends, but it costs about $250 if I remember correctly. I would like to aviod that cost since I am only trying to compare different products. I have limited start-up money due to student loans, although if that is the best way I would have to consider it. Just thought I would ask if there is anything else reliable out there.
