I am a bit confused about a few things. Please help.

If I find a supplier in China/Indonesia etc and order directly from them a product that is protected by a patent in the US, will I get into trouble? How do I avoid this?

I have found a produt I would like to have imprinted with my company's logo and then resale it here in the US, but I am not sure if this is allowed.

Thanks

If the owner of the copyright/patent finds out you will probably get sued

A lot of the time you can make small changes to a product so it is not identical. After your micro test to get pricing and demand, spend a couple hundred dollars on a patent lawyer to make sure you will not get in trouble.

make a few changes in the products main ingredients and add additional ingredients to make your product similar to the one your going to compete against. Also, do a copyright/patent search for similar products it could be that the owner has filed for trademarks for similar products to make it harder for the competition. You may need assistance from a lawyer or check out legal zoom; try to answer the questions on your own in legal zoom; do not commit to the order> then go to the US trademark website> Read Read Read... I Learned this the hard way but 275$ dollars later and I was able to register my trademark :)

hope this helps
