Hello - I have partnered with Christoph on a new muse and we would greatly appreciate your feedback/critique. We have actually run a test on Google, are having no trouble getting traffic, people are clicking on the 'buy now' page (about 11%), but do not go forward with the 'shopping cart' click from there. We have been tweaking some things and have gotten to a point where we could use some helpful advice :)

Thanks in advance!
Marcie & Christoph

(I removed the url since I am testing again, PM me if you want to take a look. Thanks!)

Marcie,

Great site!

As marketing is really testing, it's hard to say what you could or should do better, if anything at all. I think what really matters if this is a "test" is the number of people who are "buying" the product.

Not just clicking on the buy now page, or adding something to a shopping cart.

That being said, I don't think this can really be a true indicator of future success due to the fact that the product is not out yet.

Or mainly, because the site specifically states that it is not out yet.

I think a lot of people will probably just wait until it comes out to buy, rather than buying now. Because of this, I think your "test" is being tainted.

Thanks Vac - I set it up just as suggested in 4HWW, such that the visitors have a chance to click on our 'buy now' page, then there is a 'dummy' link with a price, and if they click on that, I should count a sale there. I realize people who get to the (next) page that says it is not yet available will bail, I expect that. I have not had anyone click on the 'dummy' link, should have been more clear...

Just a suggestion – put your whole sales page along with the FAQ, about us on one single page - and make the sales pitch 1 page longer (and add some bullet points) – also add a way to collect email addresses (offer a “mini course” for free if they sign up to your newsletter)

People rarely click past the first page when browsing for information – you need to “grab” them on the first page

Thanks James, I am going to work on a page as you suggested over the weekend.
