1. Has anyone tried www.lulu.com? If so, what were your experiences?
2. How do you keep your e-book from being emailed around for free?
Thanks!

I haven't tried LuLu. But I purhased a E-book once where I downloaded the ebook instantly then 5 minutes later i was emailed a password to open the protected PDF. You can change the password every so often. This might help some.

Its just like if you bought a real book someone might give it to a friend to read when they are done. Its bound to happen. If there is enough information in the E-book it will be bought.

Hi,
Did anyone try cafepress.com? Seems a bit cheaper than lulu and it does all the handling and customer service.
One problem I see is that it might be unavoidable (to be researched) that your clients are forwarded to the cafepress shop.
Any extra info is appreciated!

I have been using cafepress for a couple years, but not for book orders, however, I was thinking about this today. I am planning to sell a book on my site that can be downloaded as a pdf first, then I will probably manually enter the optional hardcopy orders into cafepress myself until it needs to be automated. I think there are 2 ways to do this: 1- hire someone else to manually enter the orders (into my account with a ship-to to the customer) or 2- have a programmer look into the APIs they offer, I think there is a way to automate this programatically...I have to look into that!

I have used Lulu for 2 different projects (one selling an infoBook and one to print a manual) and I have always been happy with them.
Use Lulu – don’t use Cafepress
Lulu has a publishing option where they will become your publisher and list your book on sites like amazon, barns and noble and the other major online booksellers. Lulu also has an option to sell your book in print (a book) and electronic format (ebook)
Cafepress doesn’t have either of those options
