Hi Everyone!

I am testing keywords for an information product (ebook) that I am writing. The major words were searched 3800 times in January on overture, and google gives me about a 70% bar for the same terms.

Question: Is this worth pursuing?

Thanks,

Nucleus

Download muse math on Tim's site. Do the math: 3800x3.75=14,250. 14250x1% click through=142.5 visitors to the site. Of those visitors assume 1.5% purchase=2.1 a month.

The answer is no.

Try again.

Good luck,

Buddha

True, but you also could multiply that 2.1 sales/month if you come up with several more good keywords. And if your product is specific enough it could yield a greater sales conversion rate than the standard 1.5%. I would use Google's estimator tool to find out exactly how many clicks they say those keywords are getting, figure an estimate of sales from that, and if you are in the ballpark depending on the price of your product, consider setting up a test site. I agree the muse math worksheet is very helpful for understanding this.

HTH!

Thanks guys. That is kind of what I thought. I think that I still may go for it because I think it is a good product to affiliate market, but it doesn't look like a money maker on PPC.
