I have cut my hours from 40 hours to 28 hours a week and get paid the same!
How did I do it?
I cut my hours down, and am using vacation time to supplement the rest of the hours (I have tons of vacation hours saved). I check email no more than 2x's a week, check phone messages 2-4x's a week, and spend time at the office only if I am working- otherwise I leave.
Now I am going to ask for raise because I am showing that I can do the same amount of work a 40 hour worker does in 28 hours. I think the raise should go through.
I filled in my time with: More time reading books that INSPIRE me, coaching wrestling, volunteering at a grade school, and am starting to make my own youtube videos on topics that inspire me (cooking, weight lifting, poetry, NLP, dating, self help tools).
Next: The muse but not simply for money. Money is not my 80/20-- inspiration and excitement is! Money always comes when I am inspired and create from the place of enthusiasm*.
*this word has the word THEOS in it- the word ENTHUSIASM translates to the 'god within' So, follow your ENTHUSIASM could be translated to 'follow your god within'
