i have a frined who is an IM guru. He went from a normal dude to someone who doesn;t even keep in contact with us (his peers in the industry). He makes $100k a year and his tactics are effective and slimy.

What can I say?

Everyone who was a friend of his has turned their back on him but he must be happy cause he is making dough.

I think there is a balance that needs to be struck.

Plenty of great IM people out there. Plently of scammers as well.

You need to have reasonable expectations, and work hard at it.

IM is consistent with 4HWW, but it takes some time to set it all up and get a system in place.

People think they are going to buy an ebook and get rich - wrong...applying the steps in the ebook helps.

Maybe he wants to associate with more successful people, or felt his relationship was with you was getting in the way of his goals.

You say everyone turned their back on him.....Is that jealousy?

There is nothing wrong with effective tactics, or with making lots of money....

I have dropped a few relationships because they were a hindrance to my success and goals. To each his own.

Well, my relationship with him was not the issue. And by no way am I getting in his way.

In my industry there are a ton of frauds. A TON! He market's crap products. Plain and simple. Yes the techniques are good but the product is BAD and taking advantage of an uninformed public.

"There is nothing wrong with effective tactics, or with making lots of money"

I could not agree more but selling CRAP to make a profit raises the issue of ethics, which by the way the original question was raised, is THE issue.

Trust me the case study I presented is legit.

So my point was- a balance needs to be struck.

I think the real opportunity here for YOU is to study him and replicate what is working but back it up by higher quality products...

What an opportunity - You know a guy who is succesfully selling crap - all you have to do is provide MORE value with the SAME sales model, and you will be able to replicate his results.

Get on all of his lists, go through all of his sales cycles, buy all of his products and take detailed notes...Learn how he is doing it.

Forgive me for showing my ignorance, but what is IM? We are not talking about instance messaging, are we?
