I posted a video on my blog which shows you how I track my work week using the 80/20 principle:
http://www.scrappybusiness.com/improve-productivity-with-billing-tracker-pro.htm
I'm an affiliate marketer, so at the end of the week, I add up my commissions and the projects that I've worked on so I can see which 20% of my time/projects are producing 80% of the profits.
Just so you know, I used my affiliate link for Billing Tracker Pro, I hope that's not a problem.

I would like to find a software "tracker" that can time my actions and tell me what I'm doing when. Like, just something that points out that "fourhourworkweek.com" was on the top of my browser from 7:03 to 8:22, and that a wordprocessor document called "Kingpin Smudge" was the top window from 8:22 to 9:15, and so forth. Would be utterly helpful. Never have found one.

I think you just invented a great muse for youself! Now just go to rentacoder.com and hire a programmer to develop the software for $500 to $750, hire a copywriter to write the instruction manual ($100), web designer ($300), graphic artist ($60). Total outsourced muse = $1210
Sell it for $39.99. You would need 30 sales to break even.
But I'm just rambling :)

Hey Cliff, check out 'TimeSnapper' at http://bitsdujour.com/blog2/wordpress/?p=439
"TimeSnapper is an Automatic Screenshot Journal. It runs in the background of your computer, taking screenshots of your desktop every few seconds all week long.
Then you can play back your day, week or month just like a movie. Play it at any speed you like, and skip around all you like. Use your screenshot journal to fill out your timesheets, document what you’ve done, or just keep a running record of your activity and productivity."

Hi ChiTowner,
I saw the link you posted and decided to give the free version of TimeSnapper a try. I posted a video review on my website:

This is the program you've been looking for!
http://www.topshareware.com/TimeTrack-download-48845.htm
There is a freeware and a shareware version (with extra features)
Tracks time on each program you use.

Thanks for that Tod. That's just what I wanted (as long as it works the way it says it will).
Glad I didn't try to set up a Muse to write and distribute that product! He could benefit from some SEO ... :)
