I will be submitting a proposal to a company that is interested in hiring me to take care of their online marketing needs.

I will be promoting the company products through news releases, social media, social bookmarking sites, video sharing sites, email marketing as well as through the company blog that I will create.

I know it's probably a lot of work but I plan to outsource as much of it as I can.

Do you think asking for $2000/month is too high? The owner just paid about $10,000 for a website that other people did for him and he believes that was a fair price.

Would it be $2K in total or would they need an budget on top of that (eg for PPC)?

It depends how much extra sales/profit you think you will generate for them. Do you have an idea of that?

Thanks a lot for responding. Let's assume it'll be about $1700 of pure profit for me (I will spend $300 in outsourcing at most)

I don't really know how much money I will generate for them but they expect their clients to be chain stores.

It really depends on your background, and how much you normally charge. I charge £120 per month just for managing an AdWords campaign so that's a pretty big jump and must involve a lot of services?

If this company knows you, trusts you will deliver great results and is willing to pay it, then sure charge them $2000 per month. As a guideline I tell clients they should be making 10x their spend as a ROI. So will you make them $20,000 or more in web related sales each month? If yes then charge them $2,000, makes sense to me :)
