I know this isn't the goal of getting to less total hours worked but it is a lesson in challenging the assumptions of the 5 day 9-5 and the benefits that can be reaped. Think about it.... If government employees can get more productive...what can this do for the private market? On top of that, every impacted family now has another 50 days a year to connect and bond. That's almost 2 more months of family time. For the single, young people that's 2 more months of freedom. It's a baby step but what a great success.
