Hey there,

I did a GoogleAd-test for a product I want to sell (4hour workweek-style) and I`d love to discuss the results with you all.

The big question for me is right now:
Should I go forward with the product or should I leave it?
Am I visionary or just foolish?

The product:
It`s about fitness and motivation.
It contains a software which combines autogenic training with music. The package would also include a book which teaches you the tricks of sportpsychlogy.

The test:
- 5 days
- Advertising via GoogleAd and FacebookAd
- Two websites (a/b): a: cheaper price / b: higher price
- Target market Germany

The results:
Visitors:
455 (a)
414 (b)

Customers (people who clicked the "Buy now"-Button with price tag on it):
4 (a)
4 (b)

Costs per customer:
- Way too high! Considering a month I would not lose money on that project but I wouldn`t gain any too!

My thoughts:
First: I love my product, I´m using it myself and I think it rocks :-) . That means: I will twist the numbers until they say that there is hope!

But here are the reasons why I think that I can better the current results when going public with the real product:
- Current SEM-knowledge is really low! I will sure learn more on the way
- No SEO took place yet. Implementation could bring extra traffic/lower the Costs per Customer
- The final homepage will have a fitness/motivation-blog. The approach will be quit unique: free extra-traffic?
- The testhomepage lacks 3 essentials: actual product packshot, screenshots of software, audio examples
- I will do promotion/PR for the product & cooperations with other websites (I work in the advertising industry)
- I will offer the first 2 chapters of the book as a free newsletter (Freemium).

I`d say: this is not a sureshot, but it has potential!

What are your thoughts?
Am I visionary or just foolish?

All the best from Berin

Looks like you have something there. Why don't you add what you can and run the test again, even if only on a smaller scale? Also, what sort of a guarantee did you offer? If you have no packshots, screenshots, audios, etc., and no guarentee, people are running a big risk in giving you thier credit card #.

Hey FreedomFinder :-)

I am giving a "100% money back guaranty" if not happy with the product.

... and I did some thinking during the day yesterday: I see two routes that I could go:

1. continue working on the produduct but with a few changes (changes in image, lifestyle approach and the things mentioned in first posting)
2. consider switching the idea into an online application with lower barriers and different monetarization strategy

I have 2 meetings with online marketing specialists next week to discuss options and stuff... hope to get some more insight there.

Still very much looking forward to discuss/chat/talk with other "muse-makers" :-) !

Cheers
Johannes
