Well, my muse is online!
http://www.90daypianist.com
Aside from a few code errors, does anyone have any constructive feedback? Any extra resources I can put up there that makes them want to buy the book?
It's been an interesting story. My old computer fried all of the sudden, leaving me without internet for a while. Luckily my eBook was emailed to myself! Oh, man. It took a lot of work to get together.

I really like this idea. I almost bought this myself! Very persuasive. I hope it does well!

I think it looks great! One thing I noticed, where it says "Listen to what a few of my friends said:" I would change that to "Listen to what a few satisfied customers said:". Also, for some reason, I think centering your product & buy now button in all instances would make it more accessible. (I clicked on your buy now button twice BTW since I am sure you are counting). You may also want to look into Google shopping cart, it is free for the rest of the year (easy to use) and some people may want to see an alternative to paypal. Good Luck & keep us posted!

VitaminD,
Yeea!!
Good job!! :)
I like the one-page sales letter approach, I hope it works 'cause that's what I'm planning on doing too! :)
Were you planning on putting a graphic up top? Because right now it's just a blank space for the upper 1/3 of the page.
I like your red eye grabber headlines, and I agree with Marcie, I wouldn't say those testimonials are from your friends. Even if they are your friends, they are still customers, and that sounds better from a person who's never seen your page before.
On your sample page, I didn't understand how if my left hand is 5,4,3,2,1 and my right hand is 1,2,3,4,5, then don't they share the same numbers?
So if you said, "Play: 1,2,4,5,2,1,2" I wouldn’t know which hand to use! :)
I'm sure you have an answer for that, but it put a bit of "doubt" in my mind.
I really like it though, are ya making any sales? huh huh? :)

The only thing I would say is change the back ground from white to a different color, or add some graphics. Right now it looks very plain, almost looks like something I have created in word.
Other than that the info looks great, nice main graphic, and like Marcie said just change the part about friends to customers.
How did your test PPC go?

Hmmm, I like the white, but it may be interesting to see how different background colors affect sales! I am sending your link to my mom when I told her about it she said it sounded interesting :)

VitaminD,
Ah ha! I see there is supposed to be a graphic on the top, but I think it's coming from a myspace domain.
I'm at work :)
My work blocks myspace.

Great to see your muse online!!
I have a few suggestions:
Redesign the site - Look at http://www.quityourdayjob.com/ for an example of a good setup for site selling an ebook. The first thing you notice on his home page is he's collecting email addresses. So if someone is not ready to sign up for his ebook, he can still bring them into the sales funnel and use autoreponders to market to them. You could say "Get the first 5 days Free, Simply Enter Your Email Address Below!" - Set up your autoresponder to deliver 1 lesson to them each day.
He also has a Blog, Success Story page, and the important "Contact' page, which adds credibility. He also incorporates a pictures of people who have used the product for visual stimulation - Try to get visual/audio testimonials if possible.
Adding these elements to your website will also help you improve your natural search engine optimization.
The blog is a good idea-- for example, you can blog about your methodology of piano lessons. You could post sample day-by-day videos which help the student visualize what the course is about and, for those who've purchased the ebook, will help them to see if they are following the methods correctly. (Just some brainstorming ideas, I'm sure there are plenty other ideas to blog about regarding the piano).
I imagine you are marketing this via Pay per click? If so, adding a Site Map/ Privacy policy is also necessary, and linking out to relavent sites so you have a high quality score and lower minimum bid prices when you start your campaign.

First off, thanks for the positive reviews/constructive criticism. I'll definitely be putting much of what I've read here into effect, and having a fresh set of eyes look at the sight is great. Honestly I expected sort of a "flame-fest" for whatever reason, but I think this forum is a little too grown-up for that.
I really like this idea. I almost bought this myself! Very persuasive.
Believe it or not, this encouragement means a lot. Thanks!
I think it looks great! One thing I noticed, where it says "Listen to what a few of my friends said:" I would change that to "Listen to what a few satisfied customers said:"
Good catch - I'll make this change. Was a popular criticism on this thread.
I'll check these options out - especially the centering. I might sign up to Google checkout too, though my fulfillment (they download it) is done by e-junkie.com. Luckily, I'd just change the options there, so it wouldn't be hard to switch back and forth if I wanted.
Do you know if Google Checkout lets you wire money directly to your Adwords account? That would rule.
Were you planning on putting a graphic up top? Because right now it's just a blank space for the upper 1/3 of the page.
I had some issues with the code last night, probably due to my ignorance. But yeah, naturally I don't like the blank space there.
On your sample page, I didn't understand how if my left hand is 5,4,3,2,1 and my right hand is 1,2,3,4,5, then don't they share the same numbers?
So if you said, "Play: 1,2,4,5,2,1,2" I wouldn’t know which hand to use!
Glad you checked that page out as well. Underneath there I think it includes the explanation that your right pinky is "L5" and your right thumb is "L1." Of course, I don't want to put one of the more confusing pages as my sample page, so I might change that.
It's good that you're interested enough to ask, though!
The only thing I would say is change the back ground from white to a different color, or add some graphics.
How did your test PPC go?
I think I'll add some graphics and stock photos. For some reason, anything other than white disagrees with me (though I guess I'd be willing to test that, too).
Test PPC went excellent - I made 6 "sales" with 200 dollars spent, netting $340 in hypothetical profit in just a few days. Seeing my results was one of the most exciting moments I've had all year.
I am sending your link to my mom when I told her about it she said it sounded interesting
Thanks Marcie, you rock! For me personally, knowing that 1. you liked the page enough to recommend it and 2. she thought it sounded interesting are two great indicators already.
Ah ha! I see there is supposed to be a graphic on the top, but I think it's coming from a myspace domain.
There are still some issues there, though - lots of blank space even if you see the "90-Day Pianist" picture.
Speaking of which, no one asked me about the eBook picture! I'm lucky - my graphic designer friend did it in about two seconds at my request, totally free of charge. I don't know how he did it specifically, but I think he uses standard Paint Shop Pro or something.
Travelhead-just saw your comments. Excellent input, some cool suggestions.

LOL I don't think it does, but you're right, that would rule :) I just have it set up so they charge my credit card for adwords, and the checkout revenue goes into my checking account, with which I pay my credit card anyway, so it's pretty automated.

This sounds like a great product. Congrats.
Sales copy is pretty good. The only thing I would recommend is to make the Buy Now buttons much larger and more eye-catching. They're pretty small as it is and too plain, I think. You want to make it as easy as possible for them to buy.

I like it.
It's plain a looks more proffesional then sites where they put animated gifs and colors up the wazoo.
btw I clicked to see your second page so don't count me a potential

Great idea. I like the $1 a day pitch.
Question (one that buyers will probably have too)
How does that refund work then?
Can people only get the refund on the 91st day?
Does that mean not on the 92nd day (or later)?
Comments:
The hotmail address on the purchase page doesn't inspire confidence. I would not click the buy button if I saw that.
I think you need to explain the delivery method.
Love the clean look though!

Wow, some pretty good suggestions all around. I'm going to sit down and hammer away at these within 24 hours.
-Will change "See what my friends say..." copy
-Will Fix code (mainly at top), spelling errors, center the buy now buttons and icon
-Create page (or section) that explains the refund
-Possible messing with the Buy Now button, possible switch to Google checkout
-Create privacy policy page
-Check out quityourdayjob.com for examples
-Change sample page to a more interesting page
-Add pictures to testimonials
-See about changing the hotmail address on the purchase page
ATTN Wildsoul: (how do I do this with paypal? It shows my paypal email?)

Sorry, I don't know how PayPal works.
However, I think the best would be to
1. Buy a domain name for your site.
2. Get an email acct associated w/ the domain name (might have to pay a tiny bit.)
3. After you have an email such as "sales@learnpiano90days.com" then use that email for your pay pal acct.

Narrow it. Add a Border. Make the background darker. Center some of the content.

You've got some typos in your copy:
- Sure, it might eb challenging (be)
- I'm telling you know: (now?)
- will tell you exactly WHAT to pracice (practice)
Nothing major, but I always figure if the website copy has a lot of errors, then the product probably does also.
If I'm paying $9.99 for it, I could live with it, but my standards are going to be higher if I'm shelling out $90.
jim
Very impressive! Good luck with it!
I'd make the text a bit larger
Also hire a graphic designer to make you a better buy button

So this thread has been dead for about seven months now, it looks like your site is still active and you took most of the suggestions people have made. How are you doing sales wise? Are you making your TMI? Are you anywhere close to it? Have you abandoned all hope?
look forward to hearing how you're doing with this

Sorry, I've been incredibly lazy, and haven't been really working on it. I didn't want to update this board with no new information.
I've reviewed old stats though and saw where I was getting some CTR, and just from SEO people click through to the order page and never order. I have info to act on, will probably be changing my fulfillment method, and have a big relaunch this week.
Abandon hope? Please. I've been lazy partially because I feel like it's really not all that hard to get this running.

I have a few suggestions for you.
1) Get a better payment system. The existing one is quite sketchy. I trust PayPal, etc. But dislike getting bounced through multiple redirects. On that point, the "order" button in the footer is actually broken :-(
I recommend a software that I use called Amember (http://www.amember.com). It allows you to take credit card, paypal, etc. and automate the whole process.
2) $90 seems VERY expensive for an E-Book. If this is the price point you are aiming at, have you considered a physical product?
Sites like LuLu.com allow you to publish your book on demand for shipping to your customers. You can also purchase an ISBN and list your book on Amazon, etc.
If you need help with either of these, drop me a note and I'll help any way that I can.

Definitely agree, I hated the way the other one did it. I'm already on it, it's actually one of the changes I'm making before the relaunch. I'm setting up a straightforward form for credit card purchases.
2) $90 seems VERY expensive for an E-Book. If this is the price point you are aiming at, have you considered a physical product?
Well, it SEEMS that way, but we have to test our assumptions remember. I might end up split testing the same pages with three different versions - one cheap (maybe 39 or 49), one at $90, and one at like $180.
Basically, the eBook is supposed to make you good at piano if you follow it. As we've written here before, it's worth it because you won't have to pay piano teachers. I just have to communicate that to the audience.
These board criticisms are valuable and have helped me in the past, but remember we have to test what works for people who haven't heard of the site and clicked an ad. I'd rather get real world feedback for a variable like price.

Then put it in terms of what they'd spend.
Learn more in 90 days for $90, than you would in one year for $1,920.
I don't know if the figures are right but put it in terms of money spent to put things in perspective. Give them a reason to think it's CHEAP instead of expensive.
There's no reason in the world you can't justify that price. It's all in how you position it.

Exactly. I'm going to use that BTW.
I once bought a $300 info product and made the decision after the copy talked about how they could have charged way more.
