View Full Version : Any Home Based, Telesales Job Recommendations?
Hi, I've got a great sales resume, and I'm looking to switch to doing telesales from a home based office. Can anyone recommend good companies to do this type of work for? I'm hiring a VA from elance to help me with my search, but I've got some time until I hire one and want to get started now. I'm aiming for a job where if you're good and you work hard you can legitimately make 6 figures.
Thank you,
jmbm

In general we tend to work very hard here at the 4HWW, but telephone sales is completely opposite to the NR lifestyle, and there aren't too many VAs on Elance.
Your best bet is to go back and re-read the book, and try to pick out some of the main themes again.

I'm currently doing that with Loan Modifications and Debt Settlement.
@Kama - I see your point, but yes and no. Home based telesales as an affiliate will give you the freedom to make your own hours, eliminate, and travel the world as you please, so if you don't mind the hours, in and of itself it can be Liberation. However, it is also just one step before a fully automated Muse and will give you the chance to work on your muse, while still having a good deal of freedom.
@jmbm - It's a great idea if you want to do it as an affiliate, which will give you a huge amount of freeom. You will have to do your own marketing, but most of the time you can just buy your own leads, and then call and sell. PM if you want more information on that.
Another solution is a home-based business such as in the Network Marketing industry. They have a bad rap for all being scammish and shady, but that's certainly not the case. I personally can point you in the direction of a high-paying extremely legit MLM company backed by a major Fortune 500. I'd like to point out that more millionaires are created in the network marketing business, than any other business in the world, AND, it can be automated after you build your sales-force.

Telesales from home is a great way to earn a crust and give yourself free time.
What you could do is call companies looking for telesales profesionals and offer to work from home. Generally it would be easy to get a remote job for appointment setting for a mortgage company or the likes(especially if you offer them commission only/pay by lead), but what I would be looking for is something with a residual income.
1 example:
SEO Sales (BOOMING area at the moment and there are lots of little companies seeking telesales reps.) Usually a passive income as the service is repeated on a certain basis with optimization and adwords management etc. You should expect to make 6figures in your first year if you are a good performer.
In essence as an affiliate you could build your muse around a telesales role building up your client base and letting the company handle the account managment, but it's safer to have your own company (I had 23k worth of contractors profit a month for a recruitment company than they decided it was time for me to go so they could keep 100% of it and not have to give me 30% commission of it)
I would avoid MLM alltogether, the success rate of earning a 6figure income is generally less then 1% compared to B2B Sales where it is quite easy.
Personally I think outsourcing telesales is the way forward.. if you pay someone $5 an hour and even if they only make you $10 commission an hour from appointment setting or the likes you are making your way to the NR.
Best of luck and please keep me updated with how your telesales from home venture goes.

I agree with this 100%. Great place to start is on Craigslist, and you can even hire a VA to go through a lot of the cities and blast your resume (get a nice resume).

I've also done Virtual Recruiting and was able to outsource most of it. Preferably do something where you will get big chunks of money up-front (like perm recruiting), OR just make sure your contract is iron-clad (and consider the cost of an attorney to look over it as money well-spent).

Where did you get that statistic? I've agreed with most of what you had to say here, and even though I am not doing any MLM's personally, I have to back them up here. Also, I'd like to point out that for what we're trying to accomplish here (4HWW), an MLM will give you the leverage you need to eventually automate your income, whereas regular telesales usually won't (though you can build big residuals from telesales to).
Keep in mind that there are now big legit companies who've just decided that Multi-Level Marketing was the full on Marketing and Sales strategy they wanted to implement into their business, so don't rule this option out out of prejudice of it's rep. This business has it's share of millionaires.

Very true, the math usually works out well. You can hire a Filipino or Indian to do live transfers for you as well. There are companies in India that will give you live xfers for about $35+ per call I believe, but it'd probably be cheaper to hire someone to do it for you. It's a great way to go.
