Can someone Please expain how to use Aweber.com to test my muse. I've built a site, signed up for Aweber but I still don't really understand how to use it for tracking.

My Web programmer set it up so I believe they are linked. Right now it's setup so that when the person puts in their email they receive an Opt-In email. My understanding, since I'm only trying to test sign ups is that I don't want them to recieve and Opt-In email.

I'm trying to make the sign up look like part of the purchase process, so I can track the "virtural orders" and save my potential customer's email addresses. Any help is very appreciated.

Thank you

All you'll need to do is disable "Confirmed Opt-In" on your AWeber list settings. This will skip the confirmation email and simply add their address directly to your mailing list.

In AWeber, select your mailing list, and under "My Lists" menu item, select "Confirmed Opt-In". Click the green "Status ON" button and it will switch it off.

I tried using the search engine in this forum and going through the FAQ. But there is no concrete answer to this. It seems by the feel of the forums, most people here have a strong or familiar background in website programming and can easy generate a test page. But for people like me, who have no idea about website programming what options do I have?

So far I can think of one, "elance". But then again, this is my last resort.

are there any options? Like a template of some sort?

What other methods or tricks have you (forum members) used?

Side Note:
PS, Great Case Study David.

Why would Elance be your last resort? I just used a guy from Linkmate on Elance and got an incredible site built for $60! I was actually blown away by the quality and how easy it was.

The guy did everything I asked, I gave him all my log in info and he set up EVERYTHING in less than a week and my site far surpasses my expectation. It did take 4 rounds of Editing but it was pretty painless.

I highly recommend leaving this step to someone who knows what they are doing. Spend your time working on the marketing campaign. I'm launching my campaign this week. I'll post about how it goes.

My costs so far:

Bluehost: $45/year
Aweber: $1 for the first month
Website: $60

I use Aweber to manage my email lists.

I would NOT suggest turning off the confirmation/opt-in followup email. True, you will collect peoples email addresses to track your "orders", but you won't be able to email those people without having them eventually confirm. You're better off getting them to confirm immediately after placing their order versus trying to get them to confirm days later.

It doesn't seem clear to me how you are trying to use Aweber to test your muse. I have to think there is a better solution for you.

Aweber is an email list host and autoresponder, I'm not sure this is what you need right now.
