Hi people!
I am launching my first own business and doing the same like Tim. I offer courses in speed reading.

By now, I held a free course for feedback. It really was fun for me and very effective for all my participants. Every one could at least double his very personal reading speed.

A couple of weeks later, all is prepared for the bis success. Ads for the course all around the university with over 19000 students, the homepage is online at www.2xssl.de and the course is nearly perfect.

The problem: Lack of participants. Even for free it was quite hard to get anyone in my course. Now that I am taking money, it is getting worse.

What might by the real problem?
- wrong product
- bad homepage
- quite difficult timing (exams @ Uni Bremen)

Please visit the homepage and tell me what to improve. Yes, it is German, but straightforward and you can ask any word.

Well, to start with, the homepage is very unapealing... I guess you made it yourself in html? I feel you'd be better off using one of the free content management systems using a good looking theme. The way it looks now does not support the idea that you offer a professional solution
- The homepage has no apealing offer or question, could do with something like "Have you ever felt that you have too much to read in too little time? Learning to speedread may solve your problem!".
- The "Kursnummer" shows you have no experience. Redesign the numbering to obscure this.
- The webadres is unreadable and does not tickle immagination, which prevents it from "sticking" Something like schnelllesen.de would be better.
- There is nothing to do on the site besides reading very basic info. Try to create reasons to spend time and come back later.

Product may be fine, timing will solve itself.

Good luck!

Well, it's not a bad product. speed reading courses are the interesting way to read quickly. Speed reading is the process of finding strategies, systems, and techniques to help us read as fast as we can.
