Hey all,
Some of the product ideas I've been thinking of it's difficult to estimate what the size of the market could be. Tim had an article here:
http://www.fourhourworkweek.com/bonus/pdf/musemath.pdf
using Overture to predict how often search terms were used, but that tool isn't available any more (yahoo bought/discontinued it).
Is there a way I can find out how many times a given search phrase is made per month/day/etc?

The last link someone posted seems to be a marketing gimic...
Again, Tim says in his Muse Math pdf file:
"I used the Overture Keyword Selector Tool
(http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/) and typed in “speed
reading” to find that there were 6,408 searches for that term alone the prior
month."
The link NO LONGER works - takes you to Yahoo! Advertising's paid service.
Alternatives? REAL ones?

Yeah since I posted that it now says:
"This tool is only accessible to logged in members who have registered a free account. When we made this tool publicly accessible without registration some people were scraping it excesssively, so we are now forced to require people to login to an account. Setting up a basic account is free and takes less than 1 minutes."
It's probably worth signing up, it's a good tool, although I admit that site has gotten rather spammy-looking (and there's a typo in the above text :/)
You can also use Google's search tool without having to sign up for anything: https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal
Also, the muse math numbers seem to be predicated on you having a home-run product and website (obvious, I know, but I learned the hard way :-)
