Someone mentioned this in Tim's blog today, and the prices seem pretty good http://redbutler.com/page.asp?id=15877 - also, with a defined amount of "requests" and subscription price, it seems there would be little room for miscommunication on charges...
And FYI Tim posted a link to $25 off your first project with elance!

Thanks for the link, I just went to an event where they were discussing various virtual assistant services. I checked out Red Butler as well, and was surprised that they offer American assistants at almost the same rates as some of the other companies. I found a promo code "lifestyle" for 25% off. They look really promising, I'll reply with an update after a test drive.

How would you compare? I am just getting started. I think I am looking for (A)a virtual personal assistant assistance like
cleaning up and checking emails, managing calendar, monitoring my son's progress in online class and communications with his teacher
virtually finding internships for my kids and completing online applications(have template resume, cover letters and application for use as "roadmap")
Planning January trip to the January 2012 Desert Festival I think in Essakane Mali
--- (B) And maybe a different VA service for the following which
Virtual research and completion of paperwork for submission to set up California based nonprofit.
Researching and coming up with 3 recommended vendors to order logo'd hang tags for clothing and merchandise
Designing website for nonprofit mutli-cultural crafts wit ecommerce capability. I have domain and url registration but have gotten nowhere on actually getting site built
There seem to be many different pricing structures; hourly where you can budget by saying maximum of 20 hours per week, or a retainer/set membership monthly fee entitling you to X number of requests per week - how does that work a "request" could take 30 minutes to complete or 10 hours
