View Full Version : Some advice or direction?
I feel stuck, ive tried doing the thirty day challenge at thirtydaychallenge.com and have had two unsuccessful blogs, neither i have sold anything on. I tried emailing a local inventor's group and asking if any products need to be licensed, it looked promising but then asked for a resume, i have no marketing, business, etc. education or experience, so I would be pretty much screwed. I have a lot of ideas for muses, but am not sure if any are feasible or even possible.
Just looking for maybe a starting place or some resources that would help me out more. Ive been looking into possibly attempting to telecommute or something similar with a job. Problem being i work at a minimum wage job and even though I just got my degree last summer, havent been able to find a job in my career field, because of the current economic situation and job market.

Can we see the two blogs that didn't sell anything? Maybe we can help you understand why. Failure can be a great teacher

consider this paying for your education. I agree with the last post, how about a link to your blogs?
this one is the first one I started, I looked for a topic I was interested in, went 18 days or so through the challenge:
howtooilpaint.ruqqa.com
The 2nd one is about nlp, and was a topic I was more interested in, looked promising but visitors has slowly gone down and down:
http://nlpcourses.traffic4pros.com/
Was recommended to go through the challenge by someone replying to my last thread I made, I havent tried doing adwords or hosting a website and paying for it. I just went the cheap way, which is possible doing the thirty day challenge so its hosted on wordpressdirect.
Thanks for the words of encouragement :)

Here is a link to a book about using your unconscious to help you.
The last two chapters is what you need to read.
Not new ideas but Proven to work : )

Using your unconscious isn't going to help buddy. A line I saw in ETR today reminded me of your posts. It said something to the effect that trying to build income online without work is like trying to get a 6 pack without going to the gym. I bet it is possible, but it sure isn't probable.
Seriously man. One post does not make a blog. If someone asks you for a resume SEND IT!
If you want encouragement, read a Kiyosaki book and go sign up for an MLM, but it isn't going to help your success one bit. Focus on what you consider success. It is having a popular blog or having online income? They are pretty much mutually exclusive by the way.
You should be focusing on the lifestyle development aspects of the book, work on personal development. Heck focus on anything. Do you want to telecommute (not going to help you one bit), or something similar? Huh?? If you are unsatisfied with your life today no amount of online income is going to help.

Jens - I looked at the NLP blog. I know the topic well. I think you are not succeeding yet on this blog because:
1) The header is way too basic, you need some more catchy wording to make me keep reading
2) Everything "above the fold" (visible without scrolling) is a header/image and basically not going to make me want to scroll down. So nobody sees your amazon offer.
3) You are promoting an amazon affiliate link and you're going to make 4% on a $18 book. That's not even a buck!
What to do:
1) Go do proper keyword research. There are lots of free tools and you learned how to do this in 30DC. NLP is not a keyword that will help you. It is WAY too competitive for 30DC. I think you didn't do the research homework properly. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP. If you don't look at a map and start heading down the road in the wrong direction, even the best car will get you nowhere.
2) Find some BETTER PAYING products to pitch. Best strategy is to create a landing page of your own, use an autoresponder to send messages to your list, and promote a high-cost program where your commission is $100 or so.
Thanks for all the help and replies, i thought I would answer some of the questions or thoughts provided mainly by kamakiri. I would like to telecommute but not sure if that career field im going into would lend itself to that. I have been working on several ways to improve my life, Ive been doing yoga more often, even been going to a gym, read everyday, and have even read a few self help books. What im mainly looking for is not money but actually freedom and liberation of my time, because there is a lot of interests and activities I would like to do if I had more time free. I would also love to be able to travel more too, Ive only been out of the country once in my life.

Jen, money creates freedom, so you're obviously going to need to make some. You're going to fail a few times because that's just the way things are.
I agree with the market research in the 30 day challenge because I have found it to be the most accurate. Obviously the best market research is actually making money in a niche.
Personally I think it is important to stay away from large niches like NLP, self-help, weight loss, bodybuilding, etc because it's just difficult starting out. I'm not saying that you can't make any money in any of these niches, but starting out you're going to just end up frustrated.
I think going into smaller, less competitive niches is the best way to go. In theory I agree with Tim's plan of finding a market with a non-existent product. I think this is a much harder thing to do your first time.
I think starting out it is best to go into a small niche, that you have proven sells by selling someone elses product as an affilate. At least you know it sells.
Will it result in big money? No. You'll probably make a few hundred every month if you did the market research properly. But that's good just for a first product.
My first product failed miserably, which I think happens to most people. You just have to get up, figure out what you did wrong and try again.
Trust me, you'll get a lot of great ideas once you improve on market research.

I have affiliate links for some low cost products and as a result my click through to order results are very high. Last month it was 13%. And I get the higher percentage based on number of products and that happens quickly.
Don't forget that when people click through to buy an $18 book, they often buy other things, too.
I want a product, products or website that will supply me income, would like to have it online, I work on self development a lot, in about every area of my life to be honest, have done a lot lately, have lost about 50 odd some lbs and want to lose more. How do you put a signature at the bottom btw? lol
