Looking for any feedback on my site and product.

www.television-art.com

Any thoughts on how to market it would be appreciated too. So far I have the PPC on Google, Yahoo, and MSN. I have sold 2 items so far (Yeah!) but still on sure what other avenues to follow.

Thanks in advance,
John

Hi John,

Nice product. Perhaps it is something wrong with my computer (I am using IE 8) but it is not obvious to me how to buy / order your product. Am I missing something?

Glad to hear you have already made some sales.

Cheers!

I agree with Damien. I saw how to order when you click on the dimensions link, but you need another link on the left hand side, and on the main page. I would suggest an ordering page that you can select the dimensions and print all on the same page. Good luck, seems like a good idea to me!

Thanks for the feedback. I see what you mean. The way I have it set up is that you order on the detail page (which you get to by hitting the "Zoom and Configure" button). Then you hit the "Add Print to Cart" button is how you order. Maybe I will add an "Order" button next to the "Zoom and Configure" button and also change the "Add Print to Cart" button to say "Order"

Do you think that would help?
Thanks,
John

Looks like a good product! Good job!

Your colors, and fonts could use a little work.
It's a nice site but it looks like most sites looked pre-2000, color selection, font's and graphics could use a little more thought and clarity. A Clean approach is always good. Feel free to stick with the classic fonts, Arial is always a good standby.
Stay away from Times New Roman.

I'll do the no-bullshit version of Ayers post. Your website looks absolutely horrible I'm afraid. The lacking budget shines through and hurts my eyes, and wipes away any resemblance of trust. Which is a big thing in ordering stuff online...

There are many things that need to be done, but some quick things: horrible color scheme, bad fonts and inconsistent font rendering, waaay too much text rendered as images instead of standard text, ugly looking gif compression.

The FAQ part is probably what looks best in my opinion.

Thanks for the feedback Ayers and Obue,

I will work on the fonts. As far as color schemes what would you suggest?
Maybe you could post your website address for me to get an idea of what you are talking about?
Thanks again,
John

You have a product idea that could genuinely sell, and sell well. It's relevant to the rise in flat-screen TV sales amongst the lower- & middle-class, as prices continue to drop.

Short & sweet: You absolutely must refresh the site design and overall usability of the shopping experience. Even a simple transition to something like Shopify (http://www.shopify.com/) would be all you'd need. Regardless of what amount you've invested already, don't get attached to the site and be decisive - a more modern design and simpler checkout will increase your sales.

How are your sales to-date?

Keep pushing, you've already got a lot done here.

Your pictures need to be larger. You're trying to sell a large item with a small photo. Give the potential customers a real feel of what the print looks like.

It is not clear to me what you are selling from a 2-second glance. Your headline says what you sell, but it's SO overwhelmed by all of the other crap on the page.

If I were you I would hire someone to re-do the site. Use elance or something like that. It's very hard to look at this site.

You could even use free WordPress themes and do a better job.

I used wordpress for this site on self hypnosis (http://www.MikeMandelHypnosis.com).
I used wordpress for this site on toddler behavior (http://www.TalkingToToddlers.com)

If I had to do it all over again I think I'd hire a mini-site creator for the main sales page and then I'd install a WP blog in a subdirectory and make the blog look the same as the sales page. It's easy to do, even easier if you hire someone!

FYI, my graphics were done by a fellow on this site and it made a HUGE difference in the quality of the site.

Thanks everyone for your ideas. I have simplified the site and choose some different colors and fonts. Still need to get bigger pictures and maybe a better shopping cart like people have suggested. But I think it is WAY better than it was just a few days ago.

Please have another look and let me know what you think.

FYI, People will be coming to the site off a PPC that looks something like this:

Fine Art TV Covers (http://television-art.com)
Hide your TV behind Beautiful Artwork
Great Selection, Affordable

Thanks,

Well there's no doubt that the site is better.

It still looks a bit dated. I would recommend a far larger title and stick to Helvetica/Arial (titles) paired with Georgia (body) if you want to create a classy look.

Regardless, I'm not your target market, so lets hear how your conversion/bounce rates change!

I have been watching the progression of your website, and it is definitely looking better...

As I was browsing through I noticed that after a potential customer has clicked the "Zoom and Configure" (I agree with what someone else said, you should re-title these buttons) and they are getting ready to purchase you have the following disclaimer:

"Check out the “Measuring Your TV” page for further instructions."

I strongly recommend using a pop up here.

The way it is currently configured the user actually navigates away from your purchase page... something you should avoid if possible. You are trying to direct their attention, and assist them with the checkout process, its best not to send them somewhere else.

Just my thoughts... good luck!

(Also, have you looked into something like www.shopify.com or some of the other plug in shopping carts others have recommended? If nothing else, you should review them and see the 'modern' look that we are describing. )
