Hi
I have a lot of personal experience in personal development. I have been using different techniques from a lot of different places to get to where i am today. The last three years have been amazing, i went from being completely down to where i am now, and i have never been happier, and stronger than i am today.
I know that i can create a very good program for self development as i use and test all the techniques my self, but would there be a market for it ? Or is it just a matter of the best marketing ?
I mean there already is a lot of stuff like this, but i am also sure that what i can make would be very good quality, as it would be based on personal experience.
Thanks
Thomas

Dude, if you believe in what you have to offer that much, just go for it. Something to think about: Currently the #1 Personal Development website on internet is www.StevePavlina.com. What was his marketing strategy? Nothing. He didn't have one, and never spent a penny on advertising. People just felt like it provided so much value to them that they all told their friends about it, and it spread like wildfire. Pure word of mouth.

It looks like Steve Pavlina have a lot of free articles and information about self development at his site, and then a few advertisements, and then he sell a book for 16$....
So how is he making any money on that at all ? I mean just these two small advertisements isn't much right ?

Trust me, StevePav makes a fortune, mostly through affiliate ventures. Those ads on his site not only generate him ad revenue, but are also all affiliate ventures wherein he gets a good percentage of each sale. I know he makes hundreds of thousands of dollars a year, maybe over a million. He has millions upon millions of visitors to his site, so any product he throws up makes him a fortune, and makes a fortune for it's owner.

Sounds very interesting. Would it be possible that you please would explain a little more about how that works or know some where i can get some more information about it ?
As i don't have any knowledge in this area, but it sounds like it could be a way to make money without really even have a "real" product...?

I thought Tim did a good job of explaining the whole "expert" and "affiliate" stuff in his book. Steve is another great example of what I believe is the most successful muse method.. giving away your main product for free, and make money with ads and affiliates, all the while becoming an expert in the field. It's a lot easier to trust someone when they aren't asking for money.
There are hundreds if not thousands of people doing their own self help sites now, so I'm not sure how good of an idea it is to go into that, unless you REALLY have something new to offer.

I see, i will take a closer look again in Tim's book. Maybe you are right that i really need something to offer, but i also think that the more people who are doing it, the less advertising i have to do, as long as my offer or product is really good.
And there must be a reason that a lot of people are doing it, i think that it is because it is getting more and more popular, what do you think about these thoughts ?
Any other comments are more than welcome.
Cheers
