I will be selling this social media marketing package to a radio chain. I have already done a couple of web design projects for them in the past.

Do you think the price is right? Do you have any ideas on how I can improve the package?

The package includes marketing on Twitter, Myspace and Facebook for one radio station (I'm hoping they will want to purchase at least 2 packages)

SETUP $297 (Twitter, MySpace, Facebook)

MAINTENANCE $597/month

60 posts (Twitter, Facebook, MySpace)

10 hours maintenance
--3 hours- finding friends/followers, interacting and answering questions
--7 hours - (uploading pictures, web design, copywriting (posts), any maintenance required)

My clients will have access to a site where they will be able to monitor my working hours, send me instructions, pictures, text, and other files)

*If at the end of the month, they still have time remaining from those 7 hours, it will be used to find friends/followers.

I will check email and voicemail at least twice a day usually at 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM Monday-Saturday. Most post requests will be processed on the same day.

Any ideas on how I can improve this package???

Thanks

This seems intensely time-consuming and equally difficult to scale. It's trading time for dollars and I don't see how it's more compelling than a traditional job.

That's just my immediate reaction. Open to your thoughts.

Yes, it is time-consuming but I really don't mind since I can do this while I find a more automated muse. Thanks for your opinion dvdswish and good luck on your muses!

Actually there is much in your plan that could be outsourced, but you would have to find the right company to do it. There are companies that can handle web and social media updates for you. Even the tweets could be outsourced if the station can be listened to live on the radio. Imagine your virtual assistant listening to the station via Internet and posting appropriate tweets at specific times of day. (Radio schedules tend to be fairly standardized, so they probably wouldn't have to listen to the station except at specific times.

That said, I don't think I would guarantee the radio station a set number of hours. First, you don't want to be on their leash that way. Second -- and even more importantly -- they're not buying the package to get a set number of hours out of you. They're buying to get marketing results. I think you should recast your offer in terms of what you will gain them (number of friends, followers, listeners, etc.) along with a plan for how you will accomplish it and how the results will be measured.

Instead of specifying the number of hours you'll work, specify how long it will take to reach specific milestones -- perhaps at 90 days for a trial period and then at 180 days thereafter. Of course, you have to be able to make that happen -- and not by getting all your friends, family, and pets to create profiles and sign up. ;-D

Good luck with it. It's an intriguing idea.

Thanks a lot! I really liked the idea of selling the results rather than hours. I have no idea how to actually go about it though.
