View Full Version : Small country - positive or negative?
I'm from a fairly small country in Europe. The language is spoken by less than 10 million people. I figure many parts of the book is clearly written with an american market in mind.
How do you think the differences in size can be to my avail or be a problem? I figure it should be easier to find potentially profitable keywords with less competition. I haven't done a lot of research though. What's your experience of this?

However, I am targeting the US with my muse, and have had to go there a few times just to do some seminars and get my initial product out there. I think my own market is a little too small so figure the US is a much better market to aim at. Doesn't matter where you live, its a global world, which was one of the points of Tim's book.
Unsure why you would need to target only your home country. Target your muse to where your most profitable market is.
I'm not saying I have to stay within the borders, but if I do business online I need to do it in a language I know - which is either my own or English. I guess what I'm really asking is if there is any benefit to be in my own, smaller market where there might be less competition...
Generally speaking it is irrelevant. There are just as many advantages as disadvantages.
Most small language areas are used to thinking in another language and sell to other countries. Depending on what niche you serve you can start small and then expand to english. Testing is easy. The other way round is much more difficult if you are an American.
And all the principles at work are universal!
