I've just finished reading the above book... anyone read it too..

Also just started Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill

Both are Quiet an eye openers.

I couldn't stand E-Myth. That stupid story about Sarah and her all about pies was horrid. IMO, E-Myth Revisited is better, as it doesn't seem to put quite as much emphasis on her, and flows a bit better.

I listened to first few chapters of the audio book. The "Entrepreneurial Seizure" sounds about right. One of the pains and stumbling blocks of starting a business/muse is definitely having to learn how to do a bunch of things you don't know how to do.

Also read first few chapters of Think and Grow Rich before I got painfully bored. The general principle seems good, but it could easily be shortened into one chapter.

I think the ideas in the E-Myth are really solid. But I couldn't stand the stories either and it made it very hard for me to read.

Perhaps better to find a good synopsis on the net.

Another example of cutting off the nose to spite the face. Yes the underlying stories in the e-book are inane. We can all agree with that, but seriously guys. You can't ignore that for a few minutes to get the real pearls out of that book? It really is one of the best out there. Others are:

7 Habits
How to Win Friends and Influence People
Think and Grow Rich

Interestingly, and don't take this the wrong way, they are all based on the new testament. 7 Habits are all outlined, Think and Grow Rich has the un-quoted un-reference to "You reap what you sew" numerous times. There is a reason it is the best selling book of all time. If you can set aside your ideas from childhood Sunday School, and really read, the bible is an incredible piece of work on many levels if you can get past the disassociation to churches, religion, priests...

Those 2 books are really good.

Think and grow rich is of course a classic. It's the must read bible for
all entrepreneurs and business owners.

The E-myth is also one of eye opening programs for me. Luckily, I bought
the audio program, so I didn't have to read the stories in it.

Here's some programs I'd also recommend:

Everything from Dan Kennedy
Rich Schefren from Strategic Profits
Eben Pagan from getaltitude
and Oliver Turner from the theoutsourcingking

These people have changed my business and my life

@kami

That doesn't surprise me. I haven't read the 7 habits book, but I went to a live presentation by Stephen Covey a few years back and he's a spiritual fruitcake in real life. Still great content though.

How to Win Friends and Influence people is great. Even though the examples reflect the age of the book, the wisdom is timeless. The biggest gem I got out of that is actually a whole field of educational theory now called "Attribution Theory." In short, you can have a much more profound effect on how people behave by telling them that they are a certain kind of person and behave a certain way rather than telling them that they "should" behave in that way.

Think and grow rich I've got the audio too and I'm loving it too... although the guy who reads it sounds like someone selling loo holders on cable channel 2222

It was the E-Myth Revisited I read :-*) Oops I left that bit out.... I also read Richard Branson's 'Screw it lets do it' this week (I love to devour books) which was good fun but kind of lighter than I expected.. his 'loosing my virginity' is supposed to be much better.....

e-myth revisted was the only book in that series that i read and i really enjoyed it.

i also have read (well, listened to the audio book) of think and grow rich, its all good except for the "mastermind" with imaginary friends (when real ones are not available)

I don't know about that. Don't laugh, but I have a Mastermind group I sit with. You would be amazed at the things that come out of your own head. The three most 'vocal' members are Yoda, Kermit the Frog, and Elvis.

I have a group of local company presidents called the Top Shacho Kai (Top Presidents Group) that meets monthly as well, so it isn't a lack of real world interaction. It is more of an exercise in mental toughness/control. Along the same lines as zazen.

I liked:
Eat That Frog
Brad Sugars - Instant Cashflow
The E Myth - was good as a concept but doesn't really tell you HOW to do stuff.

i lol'd when i read that, seriously, 2 of your influences are muppets!

altho im sure that if you were willing to suffer the muppet on that list that talks backwards, he would give you some wise advice and help you with your jedi training.

Don't get me wrong..though I hated E-Myth and found Revisited better, I still get what he's trying to say. Implementing it, however, as a sole-prop trying to do everything all at once, is another matter entirely.

I found I am really a technician at heart.

I agree Tim... Revisited = Much better.

BUT, "Awaken the Entrepreneur within"... Horrid! I mean, I read a book/week (all non-fiction like this), and I couldnt even finish this one... I found myself wanting to pull my hair out so I gave up on it after I read about 40%

Has anyone read the Thrillionaire by Nik Halik? He spent a few years asset building and now spends his money on doing mental things all over the globe, he climbs mountains and has had lunch on the deck of the titanic.
He is currently training with the Ruskys to go into space... an interesting and motivational read.

His contnet is awsome from a business perspective , but a lot of it is counter productive to what 4HWW readers are trying to achieve......

Same here. it was inspiring for the first 2 pages, but then he wassted page after page reiterating the same stuff with more and more anecdotes. definately some good information, but it could probably fit on 2-10 pages.
