Could someone give me 2 or three examples of websites that generate income from affiliate marketing? Trying to make sure I understand the concepts and want to make sure I'm not out in left field. Thank you in advance!

Try squidoo ... then evolve and build your own site that sells affiliate products.

Im not exactly sure what perspective you are coming from . If you are asking what affiliate programs are on offer:

www.Clickbank.com (http://condog69.reseller.hop.clickbank.net)
www.clixgalore.com
www.paydotcom.com
and www.shareasale.com are some good starters

If your after websites that on sell these affilaite products you can look at a few of mine
Squidoo (http://www.squidoo.com/lensmaster/referral/MatthewConnors) is a good place to start designing them fast and easy. You can set up a website and put affiliate materail on it in 10-15 minutes.

The "review" section of my website depends on affiliate sales. Don't know if this is the kind of example you were looking for, though.

Thanks for sharing. I always wondered how these kinds of sites do. Does it pull in much money a month?

I pay attention to it in spurts. And it's not a big money maker probably because I'm picky about what goes on there. The reviews are not bogus and take a lot of time to put together.

It makes about $200-$250 per month and gets 200-300 visitors per day. Conversion rate waffles anywhere from 5%-30%, with 11% being the average. It's 19% today, for example. There are not many returns and I get great keyword search placement. I tend to think of odd search phrases that haul in a lot of visitors.

So the more I add, the better it does and I can see a change when I put up new articles or new reviews. So I'm not going to retire on this income but it keeps climbing. Last year this time, it was earning more like $25-35.
