how much did your around the world ticket cost?

I am looking at this crazy website. Its got some great prices for around the world tickets.

Has anybody here gotten a great price for an around the world ticket? And how was the experience?

I guess it depends where you start from. It sometimes pays to buy a one way ticket to some other place then get the RTW from there. RTW's are expensive in Australia

We're trying to figure this out right now. We leave in September, but our route is a little unconventional:

U.S. > northern S. America > southern S. America > S. Africa > Asia > Oceania (NZ, Australia and Micronesia - order will depend on what makes the most sense)

Of course, none of the routes on that page line up, especially since we're not going to Europe on this trip. Anyone have any other suggestions? We're aware of the traditional OneWorld and Star Alliance.
