Hello everyone!

I have been procrastinating for ages on this, and finally last week decided to 'just do it' and see what happens!

So, my first muse will be ready to test by the end of this week, hopefully a bit sooner.

It is a piece of survey software allowing you to deliver questionaires and surveys to your customers / site visitors easily via your websites, and then handle the results so you can better understand your business.

Key features inlcude:
7 different question types (e.g. drop down, multi choice, long text);
Support for multiple pages;
Quickly and easily change the basic look and feel to match your site;
View all results, or filter them (e.g. show only responses from customers who aswered XYZ);
Export results for use in a spreadsheet;
Export opt-in e-mail addresses from results.

To enable me to get some feedback, testimonials and ideally a few reviews on some software sites, I have decided to offer this product free to readers of these forums as it becomes ready to be tested.

SO...hands up if you would like to get your hands on a great piece of software free of charge!?

The software is written in ASP, so you will need ASP web hosting (PM me the link to your host if you are unsure if you have this!) If you are keen on the software but don't have this, I can offer you a hosted version, though I would obviously need to charge for this, but could do it at a generous discount.

I will even install the software for free if you want.

All I ask in return is that you are able to install and try the software fairly promptly once it becomes available (which will be at the end of this week), offer useful feedback, and, if you like it, a testimonial that I can use on my site and post a quick review on a software review site (will take 5 mins or less!).

As there may be tweaks that need making that become apparent during testing, I am limiting this offer to the first 10 applicants in order to keep the whole thing manageable...so get your name down here quick if you're interested!

All the best,

Dan

Dan, curious how this differs from something like Surveymonkey or Zoomerang? Keen to see it, but do not have ASP web host -- if you have an online demo, I'd check it out.

Emily: Great! I will message you with details when ready :)

Dvdwlsh: By selling software, it's a one-time fee for people, rather than a monthly / yearly fee with the companies you mention. They also get to host the software on their own servers, which looks a bit more professional and also allows for other integration if they want - for instance, it's not a big job to set up a script to automatically copy e-mail addresses collected in the survey database into someones mailing list database. I will provide services like this for an additional cost...initially I will do this work, but if it works well I will subcontract it out in accordance with 4HWW principals!

I do realise that I'm losing a revenue opportunity by not working on a monthly subscription, and also cutting off those who don't have ASP hosting. The feature set also isn't going go quite rival a site like surveymonkey, but in the time I have at the moment, I can't develop something of that scale and get it online and earning rapidly - however both this and the hosted option would be things I will look into if successful. What it will do though is probably about 80-90% of what surveymonkey does for a one-off fee of about $70. This is price competitive with the other software purchase (rather than lease options), and my programme will offer better features.

If you are interested in trying, I will see what I can do with regard to getting you a fully featured demo up once it is ready...if it does turn out that you like it, you'd be able to find some cheap asp hosting and would still be saving money over going with one of the subscription companies you mention!

Cheers,

Dan
