Many here are digressing to sophomoric behavior. Cut it out.

If you are here because you want to make lots of cash with no work, just leave and go buy eProducts that promise you that a vault of cash will fall effortlessly in your lap the moment you post a website.

Think before you post. The turbo-charged, retaliation-style impulse post is showing up more often than productive posts. I've locked one thread, deleted one entire thread and edited many over the last few days. (I'm sure Marcie has as well.) Put some things in a draft folder before posting. There is a button to review your post. Use it! Reading arguments and tit for tat is for some other forum or a soap opera. It has no place here.

Constructive criticism instead of "cut to the jugular" criticism. When you are harsh with criticism, the other person becomes defensive. That in turn starts a whole downward spiral. Resist the "your site sucks, dude" sort of post and instead offer constructive help or leave the thread alone.

Use the search button. Many of the questions have been asked before. Take a look around first. A lot have lurked for a while. That's ok. At least you're getting a feel for the neighborhood first and it's smart.

Very well put, thanks. Let me also re-iterate, once again, Tim's own words:

"2. NO flaming. If you are mean or degrading to others, you will be banned. Feel free to be critical, but be civilized and suggest alternatives if you disagree with someone.

Be cool, be nice, and play hard!"

(You can read this in the announcements at the top of each folder.)

Thanks all for your positive contributions.

Hasn't this post outlived it's usefulness? A list of rules, a FAQ, or something, but a kindergarten rule like 'act civilized' is really not something we need to see every day as an outdated sticky.

I can rename it. But considering all the posts I look at daily, I'm not sure it should be deleted. So it will stay for now.

Isn't is "Pura Vida"? Not sure what you mean by Pure Vida. Also, Marcie does a great job watching over the forum, so the post is largely unnecessary.

Edit: There we go Webgal, you fixed it. In case you haven't already, you can pick up a copy of Tim's book, the Four Hour Work Week Here (http://www.amazon.com/4-Hour-Workweek-Escape-Live-Anywhere/dp/0307353133/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1241228559&sr=8-1).

Thanks for the compliment, Freedom. Webgal is also a moderator and also does a great job watching over the forum.

Tim is not a big fan of censorship and neither am I, which is why we rarely delete posts. Please remember the "be nice" part of his rules. Thanks!

Dear Tim,

I think you are cool.

I also (being the competitive guy I am) think I can trump you with a 3.5 hour work week. My web-site is planned, my Brazillians-Russians-Indians-&-Chinese are primed for outsourced mayhem and boy am I buzzing! Sorry to do this to you, but I calculate that its going to take 40 hrs (a regular week for a schmo) to beat me. That's 10 weeks work for you. In that time, I've stolen your customers, poached your staff and had some rather saucy e-mails with your partner...

I wish you could just see my business architecture now! I've trimmed the fat off our your basic (but if I may say so rather bloated) business architecture. That step where you check the quality of your product - in my humble (but cocky) opinion is a waste of precious time. In fact to save that thirty minutes - and let me tell you its starting to get difficult now - I've had to outsource my outsourcing. In fact this post isn't even me! Weird huh? Without quality control it means I take some serious business risk - but may I just say - its totally worth it. Work-a-holics do 4 hours a week. The new-new-rich do 3.5. Its the future. My slogan you ask? Its "The poor work 4 - Be alive work 3.5".

My Indian outsourcing partner (Bolly-Zap-10000) outsource to the outsource companies. You never know who's actually doing your work but you can be assured that its not those kids off of Slumdog Millionaire! Brats!

Anywho... must get back to work - 3 hrs remaining...

Yours in faithful competition,

CjW
