So I noticed on amazon associates that you can set up an astore for free. You sell amazons inventory through your site through links, so you don't have to keep inventory on hand. You make a commission rate off each sale. Any thoughts or experience with this?

I sell a few item when I write blog posts about them. It's just a teeny bit of income, but with a strong personal recommendation people will buy.

How teeny of an income is it??? If you don't mind me asking, of course.

Hardly enough to qualify as "income" in any sense except the IRS definition (<$100/yr.)
Keep in mind that I don't try to "work it." Mostly it is for books or items that I would blog about anyway, but since Amazon will benefit, then I want something for the time it took me to post a link. An interesting thing is that I'll post a link to a book, but then get sales credit for other books I didn't blog. So perhaps I get credit for their entire order? So once in awhile, I score from a larger sale that I didn't directly recommend.

I think it depends on the mindset of the shopper. If they're justb ookmarking the idea, then no sale comes. But if they find a blog/website article at the time they really need it, then a sale results.

I've heard a little about this & even had a friend that's involved in a "legal" affiliate marketing program (what I called a pyramid scheme) try to get me into it.. the profit margins weren't very impressive.

I use it the same way to promote books I like and I set up an astore with items geared towards the subject of one of my podcast and I've made an incredible $16 so far. :D
