I am having a hard time coming up with a viable muse. I have written down basically every category that i fit in a tried to come up with something that my particular industry has had. With little success.
What are some processes that you more advanced in the process have used to create a successful muse?
Creativity is a skill.
So it does not fall out of the sky. It needs to be practiced. So DO!
If it does not work, find a different DO.
If it does not work, find a different DO.
If it does not work, find a different DO.
If it does not work, find a different DO.
Read "Find" in these sentences, not "search for".
Creativity is about not giving up and finding new ways.
Also keep in mind that "In order to invent, one must think asside." But this will only work after a lot of DO.
Good luck!

To echo Sven here:
The only way to succeed, is to double your rate of failure.

I think 4hww is speaking to everyone that would like to be provided with an opportunity to make money from something that they enjoy. The book always mentions "job" or "work". Well for anyone that is "working a job", the reason why they call it work is because it's something that the individual really wouldn't prefer to do. You don't hear yourself telling your loved ones, "Ok, well I off to "fun" this morning for another 8 hour shift."
I would start by doing this:
1. Start by brainstorming. Get a sheet of paper and start writing anything down that you have an interest in. It doesn't need to be listed in order of importance, or even line by line. Also, don't limit it to just 10-20 or even 30. Just start writing.
Example:
WindSurfing
Snowboarding
Gaming
Football
Cooking
2. Once you have that list. Start going through it. Place them in an organized fashion and to the right list your (K)nowledge, (E)njoyment and (T)ime needed to convince the people of your "superior expertise", Income Autopilot I, pg. 157. Then I would rate them on a scale of 1-10. 1 being the "least knowledge, enjoyment, time needed. 10 being the most knowledge, enjoyment, time needed.
Example:
Windsurfing 5 10 3
3. Once that is complete. Then you are ready to enter into the fact gathering stage.
In my opinion. I don't want a Muse that I have no knowledge of, least amount of interest in and would take me too long to have people perceive me as a "superior expert".
I am looking for a muse that is the complete opposite, and with some help can turn into a very profitable business. No longer do I want to respond with a "sigh", and then "mumble", when I am asked what I do...
I want to stand proud. Smile ear to ear and respond;
"Well, that is pretty hard to explain. But the short is...... not very much and I love it!"
Just my two cents.
That is exactly the kind of DO I mean! It takes you out of thinking in circles. The DO opens you up to new options and ideas.

jpocia, that is a great example!
I am doing pretty much the same thing right now (again, for the n-th time). The ideas that I have tried did not work out. One of the very first ideas that I had was to sell an ebook with the plans for a backpack that I have made. It was easy and would make only a small amount of money per sale, so I continued to put it on the back burner. However, it fits the definition of a muse exactly. I can create the ebook in my spare time over the course of a few days, maybe a week. I can put an ad in a niche magazine (with a high number of readers and many repeat ads) and direct them to a page on my website. Then it is all automated. The smaller amount of money each sale brings in is the beginning of my recurring income stream that I can use to pursue bigger projects.
So out of all that, my advice is to be sure and not overlook the "small" ideas! I'm sure there is something you are already better at than the majority, just because you took the time to do it. Anyone can make a backpack, but you have to take the time to research and come up with a plan. I am going to go out and advertise in a magazine and make it as easy as possible for them, saving them the search and planning. The simple fact that I have already done it a number of times and some friends wanted their own is enough to make me an "expert".
