Hi,
I am quite a newbie in this, so any help is appreciated.

I decided to sell online a line of products from a factory based in China. I contacted them and the sales person gave me prices for various products.
The thing is, I don't want to stock them in my house or some other web warehouse service. (because it's extra cost).

When a customer on my site will buy a product, I will send the details to the factory and they will send it to him.
Is this a good way of working?
I still did not ask the factory about this. One thing I'm concerned is that people will see "made in China" and flee.

Your thoughts?

Thanks!

What kind of product?

Not being able to check the goods can be a recipe for disastser and high returns.

I would not go there!

No factory will do this initially, so don't even bother putting it into the plan. Go back and re-read that part of the book. You aren't even to phase I yet (p. 188).

Putting the horse that far before the carriage is a waste of your time (and ours now that you felt the need to answer a question that is clearly outlined in the 4HWW).

Well, it's easy to miss something if you get exited...

True, but in order to miss that point he would have had to miss pages.

and Hypno, welcome to the board. Sadly in the book, Tim really glosses over a few key points, one of them being the sheer amount of time it takes to set up a successful muse. They don't come easy, and setting up the trivialities is the easy part. Once you have sales, just about everything becomes trivial.

If you can move 1000 products a month, shippers will be tripping on your doorstep to get your business, manufacturers will be competing for your orders. The challenge to get there is the hardest. Logistics is easy.

In this game, the hardest and most important things are knowing what questions to ask, not finding the answers. (ps search is your friend)
