The stage I am currently at with my muse is recording interviews that I will compile for my "how to" manual. Does anyone have any recommended programs that will allow me to cut out and edit the audio interview files? Also, I am looking for a program that will then easily allow me to sort my finished files.

Thanks for your help!!!

I don't know too much about sound recording and editing but I have used audacity for both with some success. It is free and pretty user friendly.

I used audacity too and found it very helpful. For a free program you can easily zoom in and out to cut out and add specific pieces of the interview which I couldn't have done without. Just one thing though. Make sure to also download the audacity recovery program because mine crashed on me(after recording the whole interview. Almost lost it.) and judging by the message boards this seems to happen a little bit. Ended up being no big deal and I still recommend the program.

Wouldn't Final Cut Pro edit audio?

Does Audacity have the ability to create chapters? I'm recording a series of interviews, and want to send out one mp3 with chapters (that can be maneuvered through, ie itunes pulldown menu), isn't that much better than sending out 8 mp3 files for each interview?
What do you think?
