Hi
You might have noticed that my English is not perfect, I'm still learning and I've read the book in Spanish. However, after reading the A for Automation chapter, I looked the outsourcing companies and the tools and all of em were in English. I'd like to have my work done, but in Spanish!
Can anyone help me?
Thanks! Zenit

The best thing you can do now is to use Tim's techniques to become proficient in English. After that go for outsourcing, VAs, marketing etc. This is really sad, but the whole world speaks English. You will be seriously limiting your opportunities by not doing this right now.
P.S. I'm not native English speaker living in Australia for the last three years.

Surely you can hire a translator for work that must be done by using eLance. In the end though, you will definitely want to have an English version of your website, especially in a global marketplace like the Internet.
At least Spanish is up there... and soon it will overtake English as most spoken in the US (if the US market matters to you).
Good luck.

Anyway I think I can write the web in both languages. That could expand the market much, thought.

Sorry to differ with you specmurt but it isn´t true that the whole world speaks English. Just on this continent, we have a huge Spanish speaking market as well as a huge Portuguese speaking market. Only a minority of consumers in these countries actually speak English and they usually expect to deal with businesses that speak their own language. Even in the US, there is a big hispanic community, a part of it doesn´t speak English and most of the people in this hispanic community want to deal with businesses that speak Spanish (yeah, even if they are able to understand English).

I think if you have multi language capabilities, capitalize on it. I don't have any problems understanding your English, so write out your stuff and get someone to check the grammar, spelling and punctuation once you're done.
And the whole world definitely does not speak English :) I live in Australia and English is the primary language here, but that doesn't mean every one speaks it. We have large Italian, Greek, Chinese, and other markets here where they all deal with each other (as Napoleon was saying). It's mostly a comfort thing I think especially if you're handing over money for something of value, you want to understand what you're getting ;)

I follow the 80/20 principle. This means English and US. Simple as that.
Population of US: 300 000 000
Population of Australia: 20 000 000
Would you prefer to create a product for Australian market?
% of English speaking population of US: 89.33% (Wikipedia)
Would you prefer to target Hispanic community?

I was actually referring to Hispanic market in the world which is a big chunk but Hispanic market in the US is also big. In fact, the book "internet riches" by Scott Fox mentions the Spanish and Mandarin speaking market as a potential niche. Remember, you must find a niche or otherwise competition will be tough. In fact, in my web design business, I was able to narrow my focus to the Spanish language radio and music industry in my area. I do have competition but I still manage to get clients within this niche. If you try to sell something to everybody you'll end up broke :)

Agreed Napoleon.. specmurt, the point I was trying to get across was use the skills you have to create yourself a niche. Who cares how many people there are in the US or in AU look at the potential audience for your product. If you really were following the 80/20 principle you wouldn't be trying to sell a product to 80% of the world.

Latin America has been undergoing dramatic changes in the past 10 years. The Venezuelan people regained control of their government and resources. They have the biggest oil reserve in the world. Brazil also has huge oil reserves (recently found).
Argentina is experiencing dramatic recovery after the economic disaster provoked by privatization during Menem's regime. Ecuador and Bolivia have also regained control of their governments and resources.
Cuba has had remarkable economic growth in the last decade. Latin America, and more specifically, South America, is achieving economic stability thanks to nationalization of their industries which were in the hands of US and European investors for decades.
This means that all the money that used to go to the United States and Europe, now remains in Latin America. This emerging market is huge and those who have been to Venezuela and Brazil recently know what I'm talking about. It's just a matter of time before Spanish and Portuguese become more important than English in the business world. Let's not forget that while the US is struggling with recession, Venezuela and other countries are actually getting richer and their people are raising their living standards.

I'm having the same issue, only I'm trying to sell a product in Korea and need to find a good VA or something that can help me answer customer service questions, etc in Korean and translate my ENglish site into Korean.
My partner found BPOVIA and they do it all, though translation services are a bit expensive. bpovia.com

I don't think Spanish and Portuguese will overtake English simply because certain countries are getting more powerful while we're in a recession. The chances are good from what I can tell (unless you believe the 2012 stuff) that the US will eventually emerge from our recession and will remain an international economic powerhouse. I also don't think Spanish will take over English as the predominant tongue in the US.
Napoleon, I think you're mega-talented, so nothing personal. I don't think what you're saying here is realistic or probable, though your facts seem accurate.

lol...no problem bmonsma...I sincerely appreciate your nice compliment :) I don't know if the US will emerge from its recession. I see the US as a country that is experiencing a severe moral decline. I just can't see how a country can prosper if it isn't based on solid moral principles. In other words, human values like honesty, politeness, generosity aren't worth much for people these days even though they may expect them from others. People now value having lots of money and possessions.
Tim stresses the fact that we must strive to "be" rather than "have". I may be wrong but I think most people on this forum and in the United States haven't understood that simple concept.
It depresses me to see people on this forum posting about their $40,000 TMI's!!! I mean, why in the world would you need so much money if it isn't to buy more material stuff to show off? As you know, $2000/month or even much less would be enough for most single people to travel around the world and have a blast. You can even move to an inexpensive country and live like a king with $2000 or less. Housing, food, clothes, entertainment and self-improvement won't cost you $40,000/month (not even in the US). I think most people approach Tim's system with the wrong mentality. The same goes for people in first world countries (and even some third world countries too). I think Tim's book should be required reading in schools, his philosophy is brilliant and it could change the world.

I'm a total newbie here and wanted to say hello - - somewhere in here, and I just could find a better place than this post of yours to do so.
I REALLY LIKE the way you think and find it hard not to agree with you on the points of "moral decline". If you check the history of the world you will find such moral decline is almost universally common just prior to the fall of all the greatest empires. If you dig a little deeper into the details of the history, you'll even find that the popularity of various "body art" was commonly on the increase during these same periods.
"Those who fail to learn from history - are doomed to repeat it"
And just what percentage of the upcoming generations are truly well studied in history these days.
Most of them can't even tell you all ten ammendments or even know that there ARE ten.
On the other hand - I sure as heck hope you're wrong - - even though I HAVE been learning Spanish recently.
If nothing else - we can be certain that the money supplies will be SOMEWHERE - and somebody will be spending them - - as always.
Make it a Great day ! Jeff in Oregon
