As I read this section, I thought about network marketing as a powerful way to leverage oneself out of the "time for money equation"...

It could be a parallel strategy to the high profit margin retail sale model Tim shares in the book.

Comments appreciated...

The problem with network marketing is the demands of the network. You cannot build a downline and then absent yourself from it. The whole point of network marketing is to be involved with a network of people on an ongoing basis.

Creating a network of 'marketers' is like building a co-dependency "nightmare-machine".

Re-read the book. :)

Well said! Yes, most MLM organizations have such a high turnover rate that very few people can find enough good earners for their team to make it passive. If you can, great, but don't say we didn't warn you!

The only exception to this rule that I've seen is InVeStWorks. It's not an MLM company, rather it's a strategy and it takes away the difficulty of building an MLM team but provides the same leverage. You can find the book that describes it on Amazon (titled "Financial Freedom on $1 a Day").

I was a member before finding Four Hour Work Week, but I think it fits in with the remote management model very well.

Oh, the other option you might consider is creating an information product and using affiliates to sell it. Then you can get the power of a network without having to build the network yourself, and of course, there is that awesome phenomenon regarding affiliate programs that you can never have negative cashflow!

Good luck!
