Hi there,

I'm new to this forum, and looking forward to learn a lot from you>

I've finally decided, after having read the book numerous times and having postponed my actions :), to actually find out what kind of product I could make to put my income on autopilot. I followed Tims steps but when I went to the book store and checked out the niche magazines to see which niches have their own magazine:

1. I couldn't find many of them.
2. Very few of them have subscribers in the realm of 15.000

Both of these problems of course come from that I live in Denmark, a small country with around 5 million citizens.

What are your thoughts on this. Would it be a mistake to launch a Danish information based product, or should I go for the huge market of English speaking people? This is going to be an information based product (audio/video).

I would really appreciate any thoughts on this and on creating a product targeted smaller countries (and if I should forget it altogether).

All the best

There is an easier way to figure out if people will be searching for the product that you are going to make, and that is by doing keyword research.

Keyword research is basically figuring out what people are going to be typing into search engines to find your product, and then take those keywords and study the competition in the market. The more niche you are, the less competition you should have. If you can find a niche with easy competition and enough interest, and you figure out a way to make people in that niche pay, then you have found yourself a market to target.

I learned about keyword research and market niches from www.thirtydaychallenge.com, which BlackHatOnTheRock recommended. The first few lessons are about keyword and market research. You can do them in a day or two. After you're done, you'll find out whether you can establish a business around the idea that you currently have.

Good luck

I don't see anything wrong with targeting the Danish market as long a there is demand. 15K in subscribers actually sounds pretty good for a niche and considering that the publications are print.
I suggest you use Google Trends to figure out what is the relative search volume for keywords in Denmark. With Google trends you can filter out results by country and it will show you also the top cities.
