Hello, this is a simple question but I can't seem to find the YMII homepage website on a google search. Also, I thought this might be a good thread to post other good outsourcing links.
Thanks, Sean

Great, thanks. I have the audiobook so listening to the list of links at the end is slightly confusing. If anyone wants to put more links from the book here to save time of typing them in or searching the book for them, it might be helpful for everyone. Here is the other main outsourcing site he mentions:
Brickwork India (Business outsourcing)

Here is a great resource for contingent workforce (www.yoh.com/yoh.../hiring.../hiring_trends_article_01.htm)

These outsourcing companies have popped up all over the place since the launch of tim's book. I have tried dozens of them, but have found the best service to come from a company in the Philippines. I think the culture there is a lot closer to that of the western world, so it seems to be a lot easier to manage.
The company is called www.RemoteWorkmate.com (http://www.remoteworkmate.com) ... their prices are pretty good compared to most too

My blog has a bunch of posts about outsourcing, from my own experience. I started with Elance and ended up simply hiring my own employees in the Philippines. There's also a great audio recording with John Jonas on there, he's a real guru with respect to outsourcing (a-la Tim Ferriss style)

Has anyone actually used this service? I've contacted them, but they have had a difficult time finding an appropriate virtual assistant and what I need is fairly straight forward. If you have any experience with them and would be willing to be a reference please let me know.
Also, if you have any other recommendations for VAs please let me know.
Thanks!

I have tried GetFriday, AskSunday, TasksEveryDay and recently FancyHands. The best by far has been to hire independently on elance.
I am putting together a post for Wordpress on a better way to use VAs and to approach outsourcing. In short, there are a lot of things that just aren't worth outsourcing at all and others that require some pretty specialized capabilities. There is a fairly narrow swath of tasks that really lend themselves to efficient outsourcing to a generalist VA firm.
If you would like a copy when I am done, email me. bland.james@gmail.com (i'm not selling anything just interested in the topic)

Thanks for the many, many emails. Amazing how many people contacted me about my little post. It's up now on jimbland.wordpress.com. Apologies for the lame wordpress site. So many people wanted this and I was really not prepared with a place to post it. This is a temporary solution.
More posts to follow.

Thanks Jim for the well writen review - it certainly solidified my thinking. An update on RemoteWorkMate - I've received a few profiles of potential VAs but I haven't found oner to stand out - at which point the woman I was working with in the sales process suggested that she might be the appropriate candidate - I have mixed feelings - on the positive side, if she is in charge of the sales process for the company she's perhaps more skilled than the rest, but on the negative side, it is an indication that the group is smaller than I imagined (a general problem on the web - nice websites don't tell you how 'established' a business is. I'm checking references and while most have only worked for a short time, they are coming in generally positive.
More soon...
Also - if anyone has additional feedback on them, please post it up or message me directly.
Cheers,
Brandon

Brandon,
Thanks for the feedback on the wordpress blog. I put up some other stuff you may be interested in. http://jimbland.wordpress.com
What kinds of things are you trying to outsource?
BTW, do you or anyone have experience with DIYThemes? Need to do something easy to improve the look of the site. I will try to add an about page soon, seems to be lots of clicks going to an empty page.

Ok - I've gotten references back from both companies that have used the services as well as from my VA specifically. All came back positive (of course), I did learn that the outfit is relatively new as well as some tips on how to best work with the VA.
I've started my VA ona couple tasks and she is learning - a bit slowly, but as long as tasks are well defined I think it will get easier over time. If you have any specific questions regarding my experience, please feel free to ask.
Cheers!

Tasks are mostly doing a lot of social network management and posting a few blogs here and there. Once I develop some trust/confidence in those, I'll expland the tasks to other time consuming items on my daily agenda. I'm working with the repeatitive items on my work schedule - the things I have to do every day and peeling away so I can focus on growing the business.

I wouldn't try to outsource links because many of the companies that outsource links post links anywhere which is not good. Many times they post to blogs and websites that have no page rank or aren't updated frequently. I get a lot of spam comments on blogs where people try to just post links. It's not the number of links pointing back to your website it's the quality and if you are trying to bring in traffic or build page rank then you will need to focus on quality sites and probably talk to the site owner whether they can do a review of your product or post an ad for your product.
If you have a backlink checker you can check out sites that have thousands of links but no traffic or little page rank, because the quality of the links are all "0" or "n/a"
