Terrific insights from you all so far. In response, I chose to overhaul the www.gogreenguide.org site to become an affiliate sales page and to explore drop shipping products in this niche.
Please take a look at the site (www.gogreenguide.org) and let me know your thoughts.
The new site has the following to attract repeat traffic:
"GreenTube" (video clips of advice for going green and choosing eco options)
G3 Daily Blog (news feed for now, but reserved space for original content -- hopefully outsourced!)
Two products pages: One with a variety of niche products for sale through Amazon and another dedicated to just Sigg products.
Banner ads peppered throughout.
TRAFFIC DATA
GoogleAds campaign is not doing a lot for me at this time. Upwards of 7500 impressions and only ~30 clicks to the actual site.
Moreover, the Amazon data shows only ~15 clicks over the past week from my site through to Amazon, and no purchases yet.
I've also reserved the URL www.knoweco.com with Hostgator to eventually create a far more sophisticated site if this testing phase proves out.
Do you all think this is headed in the right direction? Any lessons learned on the Amazon or other affiliates programs, drop shipping, or outsourced blog content?
Thanks very much for any thoughts you can share,
Jonah
