I'm getting ready to upload my site that I designed on Dreamweaver to a webhost for testing and hopefully some constructive criticism from everyone. You might remember me from about a month ago with a few posts trying to figure out CSS and such. Well I finally figured that out(actually fun to learn and thanks to everyone who helped) but now I'm definitely confused with the PHP, ColdFusion, and MySQL needed for the processing page. So bear with me because I have few questions.
1. In the book the two examples just have a submit form button at the bottom of their pricing page which directs to a "Sorry out of stock" page. They track how many people get to that page. But Tim's PXmethod.com site has actual credit card info to be typed in. Many other people seem to test with this from researching prior posts. If I do the sorry out of stock page. How do I collect the email to have it on file and be able to get back to the customers? Database? Webhost does it with higher priced packages?
2. After testing phase with small number of orders I will just do the Paypal and/or Google checkout. Do they have scripts when you subscribe to put on your site for email contact at order submit? email collection of customers? Do I need a programmer at this point. (Don't think I can wrap my head around another learning curve. ha)
Any suggestion or prior experience with the above 2 questions would greatly help.
Thank you
