My family has owned this company for almost 20 years back east. It was traditional...students came into the home office, we (not me...i live in LA) went to their office , or we rented a ball room to deliver insurance continuing education. We own the curricula that we teach from, have a solid office system in place, and descent database of past students...
My full time job may melt into a cold syrup like the rest of the US financial sector at any moment...
I ain't movin back to NC just yet...
Then i read the book...
So i took it all online :)
I started on May 4th and I launched the site last night. I worked my ass off.
Please, please give me some feedback. Bugs, aesthetics, ideas, horizontal ce industries in which to expand, etc.
Any help is a big help :D
Check it out here --> www.internetce.com

That looks awesome. How many states can you provide the classes for? I clicked on my home state and it said pending. I saw that you are good for NC.
One thing I might add...20 years experience. If you've got it you want to say it. How about testimonials...I didn't see those anywhere.
Good luck! Keep up posted. Did you develop the website yourself?

My bad, you do mention years in the about us section...maybe you can put it on your home page as well.

Looks great! I recommend incorporating the blog into the main site. It seemed strange to be taken to a completely different-looking site for the blog.
Do the classes qualify for CE? When will more states be rolled out?

Thank you soo much for the feedback!!! The more the better!!!
@ TinaD - We are currently grandfathered to teach live classes in 13 states and online only in NC, but more are on the way. right now. The organization that is the middle man between the municipalities that require ce and the providers of said ce will not let a provider appreciate resoprocity until the courses are expanded to todays standards. It's in the works and our goal is have it rolling out nationwide before the end of the year.I also thought about repackaging someone else's jazz and then simply collect a commission.....but i haven't really been to sleep since it launched, fixing bugs, etc....so that process will start next week. I agree, the experience should probably go on the home page. I've got some formatting to do to on the home page to tie everything in together on the bottom, so maybe i'll include it there...I also thought about having the testimonials on a slow flash scroll in the bottom right as well. I'll caulk them all up on basecamp (http://www.basecamphq.com)for the rest of the team...speaking of which..i'd check them out if you are working on projects that require collaboration...super simple and cheap
@jmalkin - many thanks my friend. I want to incorporate the blog into the home page but am not quite sure how to just yet. I was thinking about having the blog headlines scroll as i write new entry's. Regarding the blog itself, i want it to be integrated, so to speak, into the site but there again i'm stumped. I look at customizing the header with blogger and am missing something....this could be due to the fact that ive been up for seemly 4 days now working on this beast and a full time job...The classes do count toward insurance agent CE to allow an agent renew their license. Approval to provide across the country is hard to tell at this point. I have the content...it only needs to be approved for online delivery and we as a company need approval as well in some states, but we trust that resoprocity will carry us quite a bit once we get the ball rolling More designations (PACE, CLU, etc) and industries (nursing, legal, medical, basket weaving, etc.) are quickly to follow :)
Thank you both for the input. I really do appreciate you for it! Now i'm going to sleep.
Cheers,
AD
