On page 263, there is a reference to an article on this website that tells you how to learn 1,000 foreign words/week. Does anyone know where it is?

Go to the Resources section, then "Reader-Only Resources" and sign in. Once there, look for the "Articles & How-To" section, there are several items in that list on learning language.

I've read all of the articles. But he does not tell you how to learn 1,000 words/week. It's just general language advice. I was thinking it would be elsewhere. I've also searched the blog to no avail.

Hi word - I asked Tim about this and here is his response:

"Hmmm... might have disappeared. I'll be writing another post on languages soon. Please let them know..."

Stay tuned!

Here is one of Tim's posts on language acquisition (http://www.fourhourworkweek.com/blog/2007/11/07/how-to-learn-but-not-master-any-language-in-1-hour-plus-a-favor/). I didn't find the trick particularly effective with Chinese though.

Well, that's nice, but it seems like a re-edited version of a previous post. There were some significant additions like videos, etc., however.

Anyways, I will be looking forward to the post about 1,000 words/week. From the article, I deduced that conversation practice is the way to go for language learning. Grammar can be learned in classes, but the rest should be learned through conversation practice and self-study.
