Can anybody recomend interesting sites of provenly successful muses that could serve as an inspiration for repositioning into other muses (by niching down, repositioning etc.)? That would be great.

Thanks a lot.

Yes, and there's even a shortcut for it on your keyboard.

Press ctrl-F5 to see it.

Ok, let's try to be helpful here. Honestly, a lot of people who come here either don't share their urls and say they are doing well, or do share their urls and don't want to disclose their sales figures. There may be some exceptions...

However, your post basically sounds like you want to spin someone else's idea as your own, and I would guess that would not sit well with a lot of folks...

Grego -- I think you're just asking for success stories, case studies, beyond that which is in the book, to spur thoughts of your own. I'm sure the more seasoned participants in this community would have some interesting examples, but they'll sure not want to respond to a request for a shortcut. Unless you offer to pay them:D

Hmmm... Not at all. I'm not asking for the members' personal muses, but to other reference links of succesful muses; and not to copycat them, but to inspire, maybe by linking one business model to a totally diferent knowledge area and coming with something original.

(After all, originality comes from such processes, and is not as original as seem at first.)

For example, one colleague showed his muse composed with audio files with mneumonics for drinks. The generic approach sounds like: (i) get valuable, useful information, (ii) give it a different, enhanced, more organized and protected media, (iii) sell it for a high price with a brand. Makes you think: to which other knowledge areas this model could be great, too?

Ideas?

Well, will leave you with three successes I know here:
Million Dollar Homepage.com (www.milliondollarhomepage.com) (guess most of you know this one, but as you might see, there is a new little cash cow there now).

Santa Mail (www.santamail.org) - $1M revenue every year.

Antenna Balls (http://antennaballs.com/) - Sales of $1.15 million for 1999 (one year after he started his business).

Ok, got it...

By asking for muses, I inferred that you meant projects inspired by Tim's book, because that is his word used to describe such projects. Anyway, thanks for clarifying!

Yes, Marcie, we are actually talking about the same concept of muse.

milliondollarhomepage is a crazy idea, some friends of mine are friends with the guy who came up with it, Alex Tew, founder of humanbeatbox.com :)

Hey, all. I am happy for anyone to check out my muse website. Admittedly it is not hugely profitable (€5-€600/pw) but it is a good example and piss easy to do. That being said I had a lot of help with it and it took trying a few different things before I came up with something that was profitable. The site is www.thedublinplumber.com, I am not a plumber but I do have plumbers that work for me. At the moment I am stuck as to what to do next, if anyone has any good ideas or would like to partner up with someone with good experience please PM me.

I've gone on Google before to search for "How To" products. Generally these are muse-style 1- to 4-page websites with sales copy on the first page. Trying to figure out which ones are successful though, that's the tough part. It would suck to replicate the sales copy style of a bad product by accident...

Are you a plumber, or do you just collect leads with that site and then give them to a network of plumbers in return for a referral fee? If it's the second one, that's a great idea.

It's elegant in its simplicity. Great job with that.

It's also nice to see someone start a business that fills a need and makes people's lives easier. It seems like there's more focus here sometimes on making a quick buck with a product most of us wouldn't buy ourselves. Sometimes haste makes waste though.

Maybe the most successful fitness ebook of all time... www.turbulencetraining.com

Another insanely successful one, great woman, great product but the name makes me cringe.... http://www.fityummymummy.com/

My product www.explosivefootballtraining.com/explosive-football-strength-training-program

Obviously mine doesn't do as well money wise, but for a new product, it makes a nice 2nd income.

Funny how both fityummymummy.com and turbulencetraing.com use the same template. Wait for the email form to pop up and you'll see what I mean.

A few things to take note of when Googling "fityummymummy":

Website is first returned (probably a good thing since I typed in the title)
Next in line is a blog with the same title promoting the website - Thus automatic links between the two sites for Google's calculations
Ads include links to "reviews" of fityummymummy.com (via dietspotlight.com) - You can achieve a similar effect by reviewing/introducing your own website on related community-/review-style sites I bet.

I'm keeping these strategies in mind when I launch my muse.

My muse is http://www.thegmatcoach.com

It's not set up exactly like Tim's books (service vs good) but the way I have it set up, it is expandable and I have most of the tasks outsourced. It's been a great learning tool and I've made a little bit of money as well :)

Hopefully it'll take off soon as we are getting some incredible results/testimonials from our customers so far

Fityummy is run by a woman who is coached by the guy from Turbulence. He's a mastermind with this stuff. He offers coaching...not sure if he does outside the industry tho...

I am working on an e-book that is aimed towards parents who's kids just started playing soccer, and new coaches to the game, in a lot of cases the same thing as the parents. I want to help them build a basic understanding of the game of soccer, and to be able to give good constructive feedback to their kids, basically I am going to try and point out the things that I didn't do growing up that I could have or should have done, that would make me a better player.

The great thing is I already have a blog up www.sofaball.com where I and some friends blog about soccer, so I am building credibility that I am an expert on the subject, and when I do sell the book and advertise I will hopefully be killing two birds with one stone. I will be generating traffic for my book, and hopefully they keep coming back for my blog.
