I had a question about the use of Associations or membership in groups to give yourself a form of credit about what your offering. (I can't remember the term Tim used in his book) I looked into joining an association that goes along with my muse but I don't see any "cheap" ones.

As far as I can tell there are only two associations that apply to me, one at the state level, and the other at the national level. For the national level I have to produce forms and certifications that I have been active for at least a year. The state one requires $350. Or something around that number.

I'm thinking about running my test website for a day or two without any mention of the associations, and then a day with a mention of the state level one. And looking for a difference, although I know it would be wrong to claim membership if I wasn't yet. Any tips or advice?

CREDABILITY INDICATORS

Online secure order ceritification is always good to have. Then outside an industry association, BBB Online or ETrust certified are some other general indicator.
