Hi all,
I am getting stuck here with the muse creation. I'm getting in my own way and can't seem to think of a product to market to a niche. Any suggestions would be SO much appreciated. The social groups/affiliations that I belong to are:
Athlete - International Kettlebell & Fitness Federation, American Kettlebell Club
Entrepreneur
Woman - eWomen Network (relationship networking)
Equestrian/Horse Back Rider - American Quarter Horse Association
Bodyworker - National Cert. Board for Ther. Massage & Bodywork, Rolf Institute
Wold Traveler and Former Foreign Exchange Student
As you can see, I've got a lot of interests and skills, so I think it's actually too many options and I'm getting myself confused.
Please make any suggestions that come to mind. I really appreciate it!
Thanks,
Susanna

Hi, and welcome to this board.
First and foremost, Don't be so hard on yourself. What this boils down to is not you having "too many choices" or "not enough ideas". It's rather a mixture of confusion and a little lack of self-trust and confidence. Let me explain:
a) I got 5 Markets and more than 2 Product Ideas out of your list within less then a minute of first reading it. Why I'm telling you this? Well, obviously just to show off and demonstrate how much of an arrogant prick I am, right? ;)
Yeah, well, actually I *am* good - or better - I truly believe I am, and once you start believing in your own ability to pull this off, this particular problem will not happen to you anymore.
That's really the most crucial part. You seem to have looked at your list and felt overwhelmed, and then you let yourself get carried away by this feeling. Which is only natural, of course, we all went through this, in fact, every single one of us probably had a very similiar experience.
The important point is not that you got into these feelings, but the mindset you have when you get out of them. Take a deep breath, focus on your list, and start a little brainstorgle-ing (yeah, I made that one up).
Think of some main keywords related to every item on your list, one item at at a time, throw those keywords into google, and see what kind of products and services come up (both in the paid search results and the top10-20 of the natural searches). Don't get intimidated by what already is there, just start looking for things you do have expertise in or that you could do better then what is advertised. Then start brainstorming Ideas on what people who buys the stuff thats advertised via adwords would also be likely to buy.
I'll give you a hint for starters: There are a dozen special kinds of Info products that you qualify to create just because you are an expert bodyworker alone.
Three examples from the top of my head - fill in the blanks as you'd like:
Special Massage-Technique/style tutorial videos + Picturebooks, "Sensual massage for couples" video/picturebooks and if you feel brave - "The way to a girl's heart is through her back - A Massage-Specialists guide to getting and keeping hot girlfriends" (the latter one could work really well, actually).
So, with that out of the way, what could you do to hone your decision-making skills?
First Suggestion: Get "magic of thinking big" by david J schwartz and read it. It's on Tim's required reading list tim, I think, and a great next step because it's filled with storys *dripping* of positive reinforcement, and I believe you will greatly benefit from it.
Before actually doing something comes either the believe that you can do it or the most stubborn type of ignorance regarding anything that indicates you can't do it.
You *CAN* do it, Susanna, and with the diversity of experiences you've already got under you belt, you'll probably excell at whatever you choose to work on. It's not important that you get it right the first time, it's important that you start and keep going at something.
If you have questions regarding specific stepping stones of the process, be my guest and ask, but right now one of the best things you probably could to is to spend half an hour focused on making the transition from interests and skills to markets, products and potential customers.
Cheers,
BHotr

Thanks, BHotR. Very constructive advice, indeed.
Your suggestions are good. I have come up with many ideas for information products, but here's my catch: what prevents people from going to Amazon.com to buy a book for $12-$20 on the same subject? That's what I do when I want to learn something.
I had considered creating info products about aromatherapy, small business marketing and networking for women, sports psychology for women, using flower essences, and detoxing through diet (detox diets). All of these have brought the same concern in my mind - what prevents people from just visiting a library, buying a book online, reading it from cover to cover at Barnes and Noble?
I think I'm a tangible person. I like to hold things in my hand, but any products I consider have a very small mark-up.
I'll continue to peruse this site and also test a few ideas to see their viability.

See, Fortunately, that's a none-issue in 99% of the time. Of course, when amazon ranks in the top5 of your keyword(s) AND also bids on them through adwords which is really rare but happens, you'll most likely have a hard time when you're trying to sell an ebook for 50$ and are just starting out in your marketing career, but again, that's why this is called Internet MARKETING and not just Internet SELLING. The differnce between poor copy and great copy. Add to this the biggest factor of all, percieved value, and you get the idea.

Hey Susanna - get Rid of that worry of yours!
What you do here is what we call "projecting", which means you take your believes and habits and subconciously project them onto anybody else and live through it as a form of fear. See what you're doing? STOP that right now. People are different, everyone is different, and most people would take a quick-fix solution or a compelling and "complete" sounding e-Course over a "long, dull, old-fashioned text-book with lots of pages and small latters any time" anytime.
Of course, for people like you who like tangible things, there's always the option of selling a print-version of the material and a dvd-/cd-Version of your multimedia content. But the point is - you can always make your product sound cooler and better in solving the problems of your customer then your competition does, and that's exactly what will make people want to buy your stuff. If you consider helping folks with small business marketing, I'm probably preaching to the already converted here, but then again you need to take your own knowledge and believes and cross-check them with each other.
See, here's the thing: You don't produce just another book for 12.95$ but an e-Book with World-Class Information and the best Ideas on the topic only you can provide for 37-49$. Or, even better, a practical audio or even Video-Course (with transcripts as a bonus) for twice that much or more. It's all in the marketing. And the confidence to ask for premium prices.
That's where your markup comes from. Charging premium combined with implying quality (i.e. lot's of great solutions to a lot of very distinct problems of the market) works very well in almost every single niche there is. 4HWW is a great example on it's own, there are practically a gazillion Online-Courses on just about any of the Four Key DEAL-Chapters in the Book, from Internet Marketing Courses to Motivational and Self-Help Training-Seminars (think Tony Robbins here), where single courses are sold for up to 3000$ per copy - yeah, just for some videos and dvds and audios.
Your believes are getting in your way here. NOTHING prevents people from checking out books on the Topic, and that's NONE of your concern. That's why we are *testing* niches before we producing the content. To see if people are buying. Knowing *why* they do can help in tweaking the campaign and increasing conversion, but far more important is the fact that people buy.
Check out your future adwors-competition in those niches. Do you think there would be anyone selling 40-Dollar+ ebooks or instructional dvd's via adwords if there wouldn't be any market for them?
That should answer your question. Get rid of your concerns and start following the formula ;)
