I have what I think is a great idea for a muse in the personal growth/achievement market. I need a software program that will do the following:

Allow a user to record their own voice over background sounds or music that come with the program, and burn them onto a cd or put on an ipod. It needs to be easy to use and it should have an option for someone who doesn't need a microphone.

I am not familiar with what is out there, but it may be possible to be web-based.

I am willing to hire a programmer if need be, but does anybody know of anything out there that is good that can be customized?

Hmm. No mic? Would they be telepathically digitizing their voice?

In Tim's book he talks about a website that can record phone converstions, and some computers have built in microphones. Before deciding to supply one, I was curious if it is possible to do everything on a website where somebody without a microphone could record via phone.

The advice I was looking for is if this sounds like something that could be web-based, and alot of people on this forum seem to be more familiar with tech stuff than I am. If the product was sold as a software bundle, suppling a cheap mic wouldn't be too hard.

If you do supply a cheap mic, there's a great freeware audio recording and editing program called audacity. Basically they would import their own audio in, create a new track and record their voice over it.

I'm not sure about the legalities of including this software as part of a commercial product, but it's just a suggestion.

Thanks for the feedback. I will check it out.
