Hi everyone..
I've had my product manufactured off-shore in hong kong. They are now asking me which port I'd like my order shipped to.. I have no clue how this works! I live in rhode island. Should I try to find a port near me, and have them sail alllll the way around the continent to my port? Should I have them drop it on the west cost and have a carrier ship it to me in rhode island?
If anyone has experience with this, please let me know what I should do!
Thanks!
Dave

A. Ask how much it will cost to ship to Los Angeles, SF or Seattle.
B. Ask how much it will cost to ship to your nearest port on the Atlantic Coast.
C. Take shipment information and call various freight companies to determine cost of shipping from Port A to you. Do the same for Port B. Don't forget to ask them if they do customs clearance, too. If not, ask for a customs brokerage agent referral (actually, several).
D. Take sum of A+C and compare to B+C. Factor in how much time you'd lose or gain by having it shipped to the West coast v. East coast.
E. Make a decision.
This really should have been something you determined before you had your manufacturer even start making the product.
Glad to be of help

Find out what ports they ship to. I would look at New York or Atlanta. Are they going to handle the LTL to your shipping destination or expect you to pick it up at the port?

What did you get made if you don't mind me asking.
I've been looking at Alibaba, however lots of counterfeit sellers on there.
