Hello everyone. I am back with a continuation of my last thread. I had narrowed down some of the things that I like a lot, beer, coffee, etc. The only issue I am having is that I don't want to be seen as a copycat of winelibrary.tv
Does anyone have any suggestions on me being able to have my TV show and not being associated with the above site, after all beer is not wine? :)
Also, would a show on coffee be more poplular OR beer? I like both, so I am trying to narrow things down.
Cheers
Jose;):D

beer and coffee are definitely related, when you have beer one evening, you need some strong coffee the next day, and well, every other day due to a physical dependency of caffeine (if ur anything like me)
I like the sounds of what ur talking about, do u also like a nice greasy breakfast after a night of drinking?

Haha, yes who doe not not..LOL : ) But I try my best not to drink that much. Do you think focusing on one rather than the other would be best. Or would a hybrid of both be more appropriate?
Thanks

Keeping in mind that I am neither a coffee nor beer drinker, I would separate the two topics. Have a beer site, focus on it, and then have a coffee site with links leading to each other. The beer site could say "When you have to get up and go the next morning, coffee". Something along those lines, this way they're connected, but not necessarily tied together.
I'm basing this on 1) a niche is small and targeted. If they're interested in both, they will follow the link. 2) Focus! I assume it will be easier to start with only one topic, and you can add/start the other later on.

i would say both, as its likely the ppl visiting will drink both those beverages.

Now how are you going to talk about beer if you don't drink it? :) Really, I think it's a good idea, I personally think beer is just as good for you, etc. and there are just as many varieties out there to talk about. I drink beer but only sometimes coffee (when I really need it) - maybe you could focus on one (beer) and also talk about other drinks on the side (and other brewed beverages from around the world) - which could include tea! I read that Tim drinks yerba mate all the time, for example, there could be a lot to say about the benefits of this and other beverages. HTH! Oh and I wouldn't worry about "copycatting" a wine site - you are talking about something different.

J, you can get away with a pretty cheap camera and microphone. You want to have some decent quality, so a webcam is probably not the best idea, but I think for about a $100 you can get a camera that will give you good quality for the web (you have to downgrade the qualtity of the file anyway in order to make it a smaller size for easy upload).
My question is, what is your revenue model. Would it be just adsense. I'd suggest that you use the TV show as a promo tool to drive traffic to an affiliate site for example that offers beers from around the world, or other such things.

The best coffee shop in Minneapolis actually quizzes you on beer and wine and food preferences when trying to help you find the right coffee sometimes, as way to get to know your palette. Not quite sure how that would fit in, but there might well be some tie-ins between your ideas.
