Today I contacted the local University i want to give a seminar at. they want all sorts of info from me such as my expertise (I do now belong to three groups in my chosen muse field), etc. How can I schmooze my way into this? What exactly can I say to get this first seminar? I want to do this as quick as possible. My three top books are arriving today. I am a fast reader and grasp things pretty easy. i have a lay out of the seminar. How should I approach this to sound as professional as possible? Anyone done this yet?

Read Tim's suggestions on becoming an expert. Or if you can't get the siminar set at University, consider, at a local hotel's conference center and advertise in the paper.

Having no experience, and only the knowledge that Tim shares in the book, here is my suggestion:
Would it be possible to be a speaker at/for one of the groups you have joined? If you speak at a group meeting (monthly or hold a session for locals or something) then you could say that "I'm a member of these groups and have spoken before them," or something along those lines. Also, if they have newsletters or a website, perhaps you could publish an article or a series of articles for them, then give a talk on what you wrote (just give an outline/basic idea in writing, then go into more detail when speaking). Then you are "published and a speaker".

I've a question for you?

How really expert are you?

For example,If i wanna make a WINE convention,I will present my degree in ENOLOGY (it's called like that in english?lol) at university,I will show how many years I worked in the field of Wine,I will show them some of my articles for newspapers that work with WINE etcetc.

So basically you show them that you have experience.

Later, you show them that you are CONFIDENT (and most of the times it's the hard part of the job) in what you say and what you know.

And you show them the benefits that you will provide by lettin you talk to audience.

Check how Jack Canfield did his amazing job promoting himself in university all around his area..

Try working directly with a student group that is interested in your area of expertise. It's a lot easier to get an invite from a group like that than it is from a university directly. You can open up the event to the public even if it's in front of a group - that's pretty common, in fact.
